ernie: thank you for that. joining me with more on the terrorism expert and ceo of the investigative management group. thanks for being here. we both like to deal with progress that we make, all of these things that have been foiled in the past. at the same time, we're dealing with this frightening new frontier of cyber-crime. it's not an easy problem to solve. i know that you're part of trying to look for solutions. how do we deal with this? >> this is a tough one. we both are positive and we both have a lot of good things to talk about when it comes to security, what new york city is doing, what homeland security is doing in the u.s., but cyber-crime is always changing. it's a big threat. it's very difficult to stay ahead of. the fbi director, our homeland security director, they all say this is the biggest threat against the united states. ernie: they've made it a top priority. >> they have absolutely made it a priority. and they're constantly bringing the best people in, the best engineers, trying to build

ernie: very nice. want you to come back and talk more about some of these win-win situations going on. thanks for joining us. have a great weekend. >> the other top story we're following is the looming new jersey transit strike. we're about 30 hours from that deadline. antwan lewis is in newark with an update on the talks. what do you know right now? what's happening? >> reporter: we can tell you both sides are talking, but no information has come out of the hilton. we'll stay on top of it. let me break down what it is they're discussing. let's take a look at video. if you look at the boards inside newark penn station, you can see trains are running as normal for now. but 4,000 rail workers are set to strike just after midnight on the union wants an 18.4 percent raise over seven years, pay retroactive back to 2011 and a 2-1/2 percent health insurance cap. new jersey transit is offering a 10.9 raise over seven years and employees contributing 20 percent to health insurance costs. the negotiations remain

ernie: why is that? there doesn't appear to be the political will to make sure the regulations are more stringent and more careful to insure that there won't be accidents or that accidents will be less likely or that the quality of care will be higher. this should be one of society's most important priorities. ernie: no question about it. how are the violations being handled in terms of the fines? are they being paid on time? what kind of action beyond that is being taken? >> when there's a violation that's been found at a nursing home after an inspection, the department of health doesn't necessarily impose a fine, always impose a fine. even when fines are imposed, it takes a long time for those fines to be collected after appeals and what-not. is that the right thing for us to be doing? ernie: no. people need help. i know you have a web site where people can go to that you're telling them to go to to get more information. >> there are many resources on the web. one thing i would encourage site of the lo

ernie: unbelievable. on the democratic side, there are issues with hillary clinton, with e-mails and so forth. is she the assured candidate for the democratic nomination? >> i would say she is the assured candidate unless something catastrophic happens to that campaign. you mentioned the e-mail issue, the recent immunity for somebody who set up the server. if that happens, it would stop her. beyond that, bernie sanders, again, the math, calendar, very difficult. she will be the nominee barring that. ernie: this is a highly charged campaign. is it bad for politics? what's going to happen when the voters go to the polls in november? >> well, you've got a democratic candidate, i agree it's going to be hillary clinton, but she's coming in damaged. she doesn't get a lot of enthusiasm on the trail. bernie sanders has been beating her. her negatives are high. you'll have a damaged candidate with a more or less united party that isn't feeling whatever would count for the bernie madoff -- >> how it goes, i don't t

ernie: it is friday night. good evening, everyone. i'm ernie anastos. thank you very much for joining us. coming up, the very latest on a possible new jersey transit strike. but first, improving diversity in new york city schools. the steady march of gentrification is changing many neighborhoods and that's impacting our kids' education. a special live guest will join me in just a moment, but first liz dahlem with what the city is trying to do with school diversity. >> reporter: if you walk the halls of brooklyn arts and science elementary in crown heights, the student body looks very different from when the school opened four years ago. >> when i first came in, the free and reduced lunch, mostly black and latino. i'd say 90 to 95 percent. and in just four years, we are now at 64 percent free and reduced lunch and just about 50 percent black and latino. >> reporter: sandra is the principal of the school. for the first time ever, she and principals of six schools across the city are allowed to set aside a certain percentage of seats for students in need.
