errol, first of all, regarding jon tester.id i know things about tester that i could say too and if i said them he would never be elected again. is he going to have to live up to that and do those kinds of really -- it sounds like a threat. does it affect tester going forward as we look to midterms? >> it depends on whether or not the president actually has any relevant information that voters in montana would care about. i'd say it's a coin toss. we have heard the president do this before where he says comey better hope i don't have any tapes and i might have information on obama. he has made sort of a career out of making these kind of unsubstantiated charges and half the time they fizzle out and the other half they are not relevant. i don't think tester will lose any sleep with the caveat like any politician he may have some embarrassing information that somehow has escaped the notice of voters for all of thets many years. fountain president had it he would be well-advised to use it as soon as possible because it's a tough

. >> it's easter, though, errol. we heard some of the reactions on both sides of the political spectrum. how is this resonating with them? >> the evangelical base is showing a remarkable ability to overlook some of the most flagrant violations we've heard were very important to them around personal conduct, around personal decency, avoiding obscenity, falsehoods, adultery. you can run down the list of the seven deadly sins. president trump seems to major in all of them. yet they seem to be able to swallow a lot of that in part, because just as julian suggested, there's a part of the president's core makeup that involves doing whatever he can to advance certain social conservative agenda items, the appointment of judges and that's giving at least some degree of comfort mostly in an international context to anti-abortion legislation and policy and doing some other things that they like and to the extent that people might be accused of hypocrisy to a certain extent that will be between them and the almighty, whether or

how do they move forward, errol, with some sort of response that is beyond just a verbal condemnation? >> yeah. what is missing here is a coherent foreign policy and to a certain extent, as the general suggested, this is what you get when you don't have a coherent foreign policy. so last year, before lobbying missiles in response, i mean, the clip that you just played he had been president less than 90 days and it was, apparently, a kind of an emotional response to seeing the brutality that has been going on for years there. but what is really missing, when you see the state department say we need to have the international community respond, well, it is the role of the united states to rally the international community. that is what it's all about. that is the leadership role that this administration has more or less discarded and distained where you have the president president a acting we have to be smart and tough and look out for america first and we have to pull out of these entanglements. that has been the closest we have heard from a through line, a consistent attitude, if not
