my question is, i have this eternal hope in some visionary concern as a leader who will be able to sell core, small government, vigorous capitalist ideas to the populace. i would ask you if you are advising such a visionary leader, what would you advise them to say, how can we sell this to the people? >> i wish i had an answer to that. the problem is, a great portion of the public is receiving benefits of one kind from the government. they are scared when people say they're going to be cut. i think it's estimated that 110 million people trying benefits from poverty programs of one kind or another. 110,110,000,000, that is one third of the country. they'll be medicaid, foodstamp, welfare, and about 90 such programs. there are 60 million people join social security benefits. something close to that trying medicare. you're talking about 180 million people trying benefits, either social security, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, and so on. that is on. that is getting to be a fairly large number. ronald reagan was not able to cut those programs. he was able to slow their growth and give mone
