the ethics commission doesn't stand alone in addressing ethics in the city. every department as a responsibility as commissioner bush was pointing out to enforce their statement activities to do the training about code compliance and whether ethics or other regulatory issues. again, we have a connection with at least five of the key elected officials and departments in the city. i do think that in order for us to get, for example d.b.i. commission to support ethics getting a piece of their permit fees or d.p.w. getting allocation from capital bond fund, we need to do the outreach to the city departments and garner support and flush out exactly what that would look like. i guess in my mind, we might want to start with outreach to the controller. one of the things i noted in listening to his budget presentation to the board of supervisors is that he highlighted that the controller was able to successfully shift a number of their functions to capital department funded operation as opposed to a general fund department budget source for those activities. anyone wh

my parents taught me what work ethic was by busting my chops in those tobacco fields.taught me what it's like in the garden by bailing hay, taking care of cattle and taking care of swine, a lot of young people don't have that today. be here these terms called virtues and values and work ethic and sacrifice and we make this assumption that they know what it means. what we've done, we've taken in so many interns from the inner-city and matters to us not whether they are black or white, black people are not the only people who come from impoverished backgrounds, people of all walks of life. we celebrate the human spirit and what it takes is a lot of work. teaching them how to rise and have respect because of a man goes up on the household particularly with a woman whose Ãbwhat she emanates and that household is bitterness toward the father and that translates to bitterness towards men. you got to help that young man to ask respect male authority. learning work ethic, getting to work on time, once they begin to make progress, then you have the pay them you got to pay them.
