i know etsy had had quite a run, but the market cap is only $5 million. that may be too small for the total addressable market also known as tam etsy might be the anti-amazon, the company that unites crafts people worldwide as a curated place to sell their wares. i buy some both before the quarter and after if it pulls back then we have what i think might be the biggest upside surprise of the week. it's a company you probably don't know the name. i don't know how they came up with this thing, an deve, it's merging with marathon pete you know the latter is our fav this sits in the most lucrative part of the entire oil patch, buying crude at low places in places land locked without a pipeline infrastructure and marking foyt interest same prices other upliners get. these guys have the lowest input costs. other guys pay much more for crude. this is a good story all of the refiners are doing well because of this crude logjam, but this is the best of the bunch. tuesday morning we hear from emerson electric and i believe it's set up for an upside surprise, and n

. >> rob, this week i can't help but notice, maybe this is kind of a counter story to fang, etsy is up1.5 home runs roku up 27%. iac up 24% these are the very sorts of companies that these dominant technology players were supposed to undermine but in their earnings this week, and just in general they have been doing pretty well. does that point to perhaps a vulnerability in the overall story line for some of these tech powers or not >> i don't think so. this is the biggest shift that's occurred in our life times and business models are being redefined up and down the board because of the influence of technology particularly internet and mobile technologies. the idea that the giants take everything, i think is overplayed and these smaller cap names tend to move up and down a lot. i mean they had very significant selloffs in the early part of the year came back strong through the middle part of the year. they are hit or miss we also had some big moves down. twitter, for instance. that's pretty typical among those names in the internet space. >> i would throw in the mix the list of stocks

there are lots of opportunities in names you mentioned i can't believe how well etsy has done from itsand we're not in this name and i'm kicking myself for it. we knew it was a great company, didn't buy it low. there are all these great opportunities in technology. ever since i started investing as a kid, i realized that technology is the best thing that america makes you have to be an investor in technology to earn larger returns. what we're seeing in the market is correct these are the best companies in the world and they have monopolies that nobody wants to seem to break up, which make them even more valuable. >> paul, i realize we're a month and a half out from this change happening, but we're about to have some tech companies and media companies rejigger some sectors changed around in the s & p. what's that going to do so to this entire narrative around tech leadership? >> excellent question that you ask. when we carve out this communication services group, we're going to have big tech names like facebook and google enter that sector, so tech analysts, people like me that have bee
