taking in the scene in washington while we have a conversation, chris matthews and i, with austin eubankscreate meaningful change. there was really no frame of reference when columbine happened. this wasn't something that occurred, there was a different level of preparedness from the stoneman douglas students. now there is a voice so loud, it cannot be ignored. >> what about the repetition factor, that this is part of the lives of people who were born at the time of columbine, now it's the world they were born into. >> absolutely. having the opportunity to talk to many of these students, they have never felt that it was appropriate that since they were young, young children, they've been doing active shooter drills until the school. when it occurred, they knew what was happening, unlike what happened at the time of columbine. i think that repetition plays a huge part. it's brought down the threshold for how crazy somebody needs to be to commit a crime like this. that's what's so scary, if we don't get meaningful legislation passed, this will continue to occur. >> will you take incremental
