but i think eugene is right. i think frankly most of the committee members would agree with eugene. but i think what the frustrated public and media needs to remember is, you have got to put the facts together before you present the facts. they are interviewed nearly 00 people. you are not going to want to have hearings with 300 people. that's going to be boring. it's going to be useless. and it is not going to tell the story. it is not dissimilar to what we did with the ukraine impeachment. we had closed door depositions, there were calls for it to be done in public. then we did have public hearings. >> uh-huh. >> that enabled us to tell a story through the witnesses. of course, we weren't making anything up, but we were able to idea the relevant and valuable portions of their ten hours of testimony and pull it out in a shorter hearing. we are going the want that. you, as the media, the public, is going to want this to be distilled into its core parts and core points when it comes public. but they have to figure out what that is. they don't know. so you don't want to do this invest

eugene daniels politicos white house correspondent and co-author of the politic coe politico playbook and mark meadows, what is his argument exactly? >> his argument is in two parts. basically says the subpoenas sent against him by the january 6th committee are overly broad and too burdensome, not targeted enough. essentially accusing the investigative committee of investigating too hard. he also makes a privilege claim here and says he can't decide whether he needs to follow the subpoenas from the committee or need to follow the guidance from former president trump that he is subject to executive privilege and doesn't have to testify. the committee looks at this, though, and sees a classic trump tactic. which you don't have the goods you stall for time and you stall for time by suing. so they're trying to force the issue, force contempt proceedings to move forward on him and hopefully get something from mark meadows beyond some documents they say they have already received. >> talk about that in a minute. chuck, you say the committee's flaw. >> may well be flawed, but to garrett's po

eugene stock is here onset with us. thank you, eugene, it's great for you to be here. raised a million dollars in capital for a group of unnamed social media investors. the former president is known to exaggerate claims of wealth and things, do we have a sense this money is for real. where do we think of the momentum he may or may not have? >> we don't know for sure. that's what the sec finding. they want to know who's the board of director or procedures of the banking. just who these actual investors are because there are more questions than answers right now. about a monthing monthing a -- it looked like a scheme. it was something of a concern. she pointed to a meeting she believes possibly taken place before all of this was announced. the sec got some clarity on what exactly happening. >> scheme, trump? do we have a timeline for this? >> it's not yet clear because we have not heard from trump's world in terms of getting the information requested. >> the president is responding to some democrats and felt like he had not done enough to sell back the build back better

eugene, great to see you.olling there, and how is it going with a red state? >> exactly. this is an important trip for them because they wanted to make sure folks understood from the beginning this bipartisan infrastructure bill was not just for democrats. it's also for republicans. this is a way for them to show, hey, we're not scared to go to states. i think that's something really important because they've been frustrated both in the white house and democrats on capitol hill and around the country that the legislative achievement is one that they really should be able to sell really easily, that they should be -- they should eventually get a lot of credit for is overshadowed by the kind of messiness of actually getting through the social spending bill that they're still working through that's overshadowed the infrastructure bill. so this is an opportunity for them to actually say, hey, we did this. and one of the issues that they might run into is when they did the child tax credit, they didn't get a lot of

playbook co-author, eugene daniels, errin haynes, editor in large of the 19 and s of the di.come to sunday, it's "meet the press." >>> a good sunday morning. we're going to take a look at the supreme court abortion case from two perspectives today, the practical and the political. what was clear from the arguments this past week is a six-vote majority is ready to uphold mississippi's abortion ban at 15 weeks before viability. what's still at issue is will the court weaken or fully overturn roe v. wade. more than half the states will make abortion illegal if it's a full overturn unrachling 50 years of protection of abortion rights. at the same time there are political consequences as well. the case could actually brighten what is a grim outlook right now for democrats in 2022. the court has long been an energizing issue for republican voters. could the neutering of roe anger angry democrats and women in general as we head toward the midterm elections. the abortion debate is perhaps the longest running example over an increasingly divided america. none of those divisive issues
