eun yang joins us live from philadelphia this morning. hat a great vantage point where the pope will be celebrating mass. good morning, eun. >> reporter: good morning to you, david and angie. we're in the heart of philadelphia where the pope is expected to arrive in just a couple of hours. and david, you mentioned, this is a great vantage point. to give you a sense of where we are, right behind me is the benjamin franklin parkway, stretching all the way down to the philadelphia museum of art. you can see that large building in the background to city hall. you can call it the pennsylvania avenue of philly. there's a huge outdoor festival of families that will take place later today. already people are lining the route. we could hear singing and chanting and cheering this morning. now, this entire area, it's called the center city of philadelphia is shut down right now as thousands of people come into the city to see pope francis. some estimates put over a million people here. you can see the jumbotron set up along the route here as well. as

eun yang is live and filly. eun, pope francis is in for another busy day. what are you hoping to see there. >> we just learned he's met with them. many catholic churches complaining the church has not done enough to protect victims or punish the perpetrator. as the pope was addressing the bishops and seminarians, he addressed that issue. he said sex abuse and children should not be tolerate and youth should be protected. this is the first stop in a busy day as you mentioned. after he leaves there, he'll g to a prison to visit with young inmates and then celebrate mass here at the benjamin franklin parkway. it's a public mass. there's security. the security has been tight ever since the pope arrived but we're seeing longer lines at the security checkpoints. each person has to be screened and they're going through each and every bag. so this could take more than an hour at some of these points depending on which entrance you go to. but a lots of people that come from far and wide, they're willing to late it's been very, very secure. we haven't experienced any

i'm eun yang. >> reporter: and i'm aaron gilchrist on the east capitol. he'll speak with members of congress later on. he has a full day before he heads back to vatican city. this is where the pope will arrive. already this morning we've seen u.s. capital police moving around here, making sure that everything is in place security wise for the pope before he arrives. there are congressional staffers so they'll be able to see him as well. about 9:00 this morning we expect the pope to leave here. there will be many road closures as the pope moves through town we saw that yesterday. he's expected to arrive at the capitol at roughly 9:15. he'll go into the speaker's ceremonial offices here. speaker boehner and the pope will meet inside his office for about 20 minutes. after that he'll head to the chambers to meet with congress. congress has been told to avoid, pretty much not reach out and have side conversations with him as he enters the chambers with him. we expect them to speak for 30, 40 minutes or so. we don't know exactly what he will say, but some of th
