think eureka and up towards oregon, and also washington, with the heaviest rainfall.lly want to couch all of this forecast in the fact that if we get the rain line moving just 150 to 200 miles to the south, our rain forecast is going to be much different and in a big way. that's what i'm closely watching behind the scenes. as far as it goes right now, how things are shaping up, we would see spotty rain chances friday night, saturday evening. maybe some more on-and-off chances here into sunday night. we hold on to a few shower chances into monday afternoon. and maybe a little bit of rain here as we head into next tuesday. right now, friday through sunday, only trace amounts to a quarter of an inch. and once you add on monday and tuesday, a quarter to half-inch. look at the difference. eureka, over two inches. if that moves to the south, our rain forecast would be much different. i'm going to be watching that. the pacific northwest, two to eight inches there. on the seven-day forecast, temperatures in the 60s through san francisco, remain with us. and for tin land valle

i've also been watching the radar with this active weather just to our north up around eureka. we're getting some lightning strikes with some thunderstorms starting to development farther to the north. as we look closer to home, the rain has been spotty across the bay area but is starting to pick up in activity. when we get those breaks in between with the sunshine and the difference in temperatures, we may see some thunderstorms developing due to more energy being put into the system. and so, as of now, once again, the rain is very hit-or-miss, seeing a little bit more over santa cruz right now with some heavier rain. and that will be the case as we go throughout the day. at 2:00 to 4:00, we're seeing some off-and-on showers and at times some sunshine, but the chances of rain will continue throughout the afternoon into the evening and gradually taper off tomorrow. so, i very well a look at that forecast as we get ready also for cooler temperatures. more on that coming up in the full microclimate forecast. >> thanks, kari. >>> new fallout for san jose police after an officer ac

eureka gets a little rain, we don't get much here. here is the next system. the next one has better aim, that would start to drive some showers that do hit the northbay saturday morning. this does not look very impressive, the totals will be pretty light, but there is still rain in the forecast , you will see it in the seven-day, you could get as much as a quarter inch of rain out of this. if we look at the some of the more optimistic forecast models, the numbers go up at this point in the northbay to about a quarter inch, and everybody south gate just a few hundredths. that is saturday and sunday at this point. this has been a bit frustrating, with this particular system, because the models have really had a hard time nailing it down. it has waffled a lot. but what has been consistent enough is the chance for some light rain. that is why we have saturday and sunday back here. the majority is coming saturday, then sunday there might be a few leftovers. look at next week, had to start looking back here, soon, because the long-range forecast still hints the sto
