we're very fortunate here in evansville, we have a new v.a. clinic and it's a good-sized clinic now. i've been treated exceptionally well. i have to -- our marion v.a. is our base hospital. the folks treated me very well. compared to other places in the country, we're very fortunate. i've been very fortunate being treated by the v.a. my really main comment when you mentioned about the v.a. not having money, a quick example of this, back in july of this past year, i had a heart attack like at 6:00 in the morning. my son took me to the emergency room. i was in the hospital for a week, and what really the thing that really just -- i could not believe the stupidity on the v.a. dealing with the v.a. in kansas city, missouri, i guess that's where their "wizard of oz" building. my bill was $42,000. i had private insurance. they negotiated the hospital bill. the doctor bill, the v.a. had to pay was like $2,500. and the v.a., their excuse was because i didn't get preauthorized, number one, was i didn't know you had to get preauthorized at 6:00 in the m

in evansville, indiana, howling winds crushed a house. heavy rains causing street flooding and wind gusts hitting 50 miles per hour. nbc meteorologist dylan dreyer has the forecast. hi, dylan. >> good morning, alex. we are going to see a lot happen this weekend with storms and snow. it is strong across country. showers and storms across western tennessee. lighter snow showers in and around the denver area. they're very light right now, but as we go especially into sunday night, that's when we're going to see heavier snow. it's basically going to turn into a snowstorm with accumulating snow in parts of the rockies. you can see possibly up to 6 to 12 inches of snow. more as you go up into the higher elevations. the white here across parts of idaho, that's 3 to 6 inches. it will be messy for the monday morning commute. as for severe storms this weekend, we will see the possibility of damaging winds and large hale in this area in yellow from oklahoma city to illinois including most of missouri including southern iowa and eastern parts of kans

in evansville, indiana, flooding rains and trees down on homes. we had no reported tornadoes but we did have a lot of wind damage and hail. residents are picking up the pieces. at some point yesterday, 50,000 people were without power. today we are looking at another round of storms. we have a very active pattern. this map looks busy, because it is. we have these areas of low pressure and the jet stream helping to fuel these fronts to go around this low. we've got snow on the backside. we could see a significant snow storm in the denver area by sunday night. and out ahead of this system, we are looking at showers and storms to develop with the most severe storms possible on sunday. today, though, we are looking at a slight risk of storms through oklahoma city over into st. louis and even western illinois. tornados are possible, but it's more the hail and the damaging wind gusts. and then tomorrow we are looking from chicago to wisconsin, right into parts of texas. a huge area where we could see very strong storms and possible >>> and we're looking
