everyone has about two minutes. once she starts waving at you, please wrap it up. >> good evening, mr. mayor, everyone else. i am a member of dish. my concerns are with the proposed dph cuts to a number of services but to be homeless and formerly homeless, including 109 units of supportive housing. there is a proposal to relocate tenants to new housing coming on line, so it would be a net loss of 109 units. i am also concerned about the proposed cuts to drop-in centers, cuts to youth programs, and others. if there is a way to make sure there is enough financing to restore some of the proposed cuts in the health department's budget, that would be great. ultimately, it would save money in terms of -- dph is facing serious issues, but the cost of the system elsewhere -- it would be much greater his people can access the vital services that people need. thank you. welcome to everyone. i know there are a lot of specific issues to discuss and come to resolution and consensus on around transportation, health care delivery, charity care, etc. i think it is incredibly important as we work through the process to keep our eye on the big picture, which is the future of health care in san francisco, the seismic needs of our hospitals, and the possibility of making our world-class health care system even more world- class. in recent years, we have gone through a number of very large and sometimes contentious projects. it may be treasure island or mission point. then there is the america's cup, the warriors, cpmc, we have all of these projects. they can become divisive in the community and emotional. we get caught up in a lot of issues, some of which are very important. it is important to focus on the big picture of the future of the city. someone made a comment to meet a week ago, someone who's not really involved in politics or land-use. they said to me that some of the pro

supervisor campos: thank you, everyone, for your comments. i think there was a lot that was heard today. one of the things that struck me as very powerful is this notion that we have a tale of two cities here in part of district 9, and i think it is something that will guide the decisions that we make, and i do think that as we talk about jobs, that it is important to remember the small business community and the community- based organizations that also provide those jobs. i want to echo some of the comments around right away. as an openly gay man, i can tell you that that is a big priority for me. i want to agree with everything the supervisor wiener said about that. for the three of us on the board of supervisors who are members of the lgbt community -- supervisor wiener, supervisor olague, and myself -- i know we will be continuing the discussion as we move forward with the rest of the budget. i was touched to hear about the importance of protecting our transitional-age youth and the queer youth that have some specific needs. i think it is

our we doing, everyone? -- how are we doing, everyone? >> we have an incredible relationship with cfs. we have leaders from the hiv/aids fight. many of them have become administrators and the health department. and soap ,ucfs -- and so ucfs has been an incredible partnership for department. [applause] >> thank you. it is such an honor to be here today, to represent the over 2000 employees who work here on this campus and come here every day to provide the best service people can in partnership with the city. it is one of our major sites, not only for delivering health care, but also for teaching the bank in all of these schools -- the school of medicine, the school of nursing, the school of pharmacy, and the graduate school. this is a site that is important to all of us in terms of having cutting edge research. we have over $250 million on this campus as well as 800 people who work here doing research that will lead to the improvement of our health and the future. so, with this partnership, i am just so pleased looking out on this wonderf

but we are well accepted and respected because we talk straight with everyone and we have benefited everyone. >> one more question and then one final question for you. >> something my friends have talked about is this kind of bipolar attitude of what it takes to look like a burner. it is expensive, what it takes to go out there. you said that we find high levels of satisfaction in consumption. what do you think of this industry is growing around what it takes to fit in out there? >> everyone lives in their own world. this is pretty much how i look out there. the hat, shirt. >> this is what i wear. >> this is not expensive apparel. i would not wear these shoes. they are too nice. there will always be that attitude. i can see by your office that we are -- outift that you are a burner. if people go out there and too expensive things, that is great. if they pay money for these things, fine. we are not against commerce. in essence, when they do that, we see that as a gift to others. they are giving that to other people. they are dressing up the landscape. they are certainly not staying in their t

it would harm everybody, therefore everyone actually owns it. in a sense everyone owns the water and no one owns the water. you can't dump stuff into it. the atmosphere would be classified as a public trust as well. which means that there very strict limits on what you can and cannot dump in the atmosphere. one of those would be carbon dioxide emissions. just methane, for example. what we were trying to do basically is the legal part is california would have to crack down on a lot of pumping and dumping and other toxic guesses like sulfur dioxide like other ramifications on the atmosphere. this was a very, very big legal endeavor and very similar activities such as other environmental groups and other states were lobbying to have the atmosphere considered as a public trust. we were doing this not just on the state level, but the federal level as well. we dropped it for the time being, but it was a landmark endeavor. we were trying to get the atmosphere lobbied, but for the first time in well, really, the youth was a massive driving factor behind
