ewed evidence of at least 17 cases of people crossing state lines to vote twice. they feel strongly enough about what they've seen to send these cases to prosecutors and the state board of elections for a closer look. scott broom is in fairfax with more. >> reporter: it appears there are at least 17 people here in fairfax county, virginia, who have voted both here and across the river over in maryland back in 2012 and in some cases it appears they've done it repeatedly over a decade. that's why the county electoral board is asking fairfax county's commonwealth attorney, the state attorney general and federal department of justice for an investigation of possible voter fraud. the cases were discovered by a volunteer conservative advocacy group called election integrity maryland. the group crunched voter data from maryland and virginia identifying nearly 44,000 people registered to vote in both states. that's no surprise because people move around and voter registration rolls don't get purged often, but what is a surprise is it appears about 164 of those people actu
