excavation proceeding in zones two and three. zone four again all the water -- all the water treatment plant equipment has been removed. the trestle bridge is started. as of last friday was completed with all the deck cover laid out. they still have welding and work to do underneath, so work is progressing significantly in zone four as well. shots of the work going on in zone four. and of course i mentioned the awss work continues. you can see how congested things are in trying to build the new boxes for the pipe and work around the other utilities. this work was taken place at mission and first street. we still running overall the 63% mark on local labor. there are the break downs through the end of april, and as far as trade break downs also through the end of april 1300 unique individuals having recorded time on the project. and again this is just the transit center work and the utilities work. it doesn't include the previous demolition or the temporary terminal work. are there any questions? >> director harper. >> yeah. a cou

we hope to keep that up and the bracing work and the excavation over all is about 65 percent complete. and we have seen great progress on that in zone one about 87 percent complete, zone two, micropiles have started and are at 16 percent complete, and to date, none of the micropiles have failed in their post installation testing so that is moving along very well. again, big highlight and construction site is just this last weekend with the bridge installation, no complaint. and we got that going on monday, so the team particularly web corp and the subcontractor did a great job on that and certainly the neighborhood appreciated it and most of that is over. the ground system and the geo thermal started this week with the first installations in the west end in zone one and in zone four, and i will show you the picture the buttress contractor is completely gone now. so that picture changed yet again, unlike the other times that i showed you the picture and it never changed. >> a big milestone on the auxiliary water system, between first and second street, started at second and worked east

this job is a very complicated, very difficult, one-of-a-kind belowground station excavation project. we did not get a lot of local enterprise quotes on the major categories because it's extremely complex and larger. one of the largest subcontractors is a local subcontractor. we did everything within our power and are still open to local businesses who really have an interest in providing service on what's remaining to be done. your agency has all the quotes we took from local businesses; i think you would be interested to find out that there weren't that many quotes despite all the rhetoric to the contrary; we did everything within our power to incorporate them. we have a saying, if you don't bid, you don't work. >> excuse me just a second. in the spirit of what people are saying here, sounds like you are saying the local businesses cannot do the work. >> i'm saying that this is an complexity of the job, there are that many categories were we can utilize local businesses. in the final analysis we held those same meetings and we got a certain number of quotes; we turn in all the quote
