i live in it excelsior district.am a senior student at balboa high speed -- the ball high school. i am concerned about the issues the proposed hospital will bring. my family and i use the road on many different occasions. we all agree that it is busy all hours of the day. when it is not rush-hour, there is always a constant stream of people using the road for their personal needs. the hospital would only worsen the traffic which is already horrendous. the size of the hospital, its clients and staff parking, the operations that will undertake bailey, those kind of factors -- it will create even more chaos on this already-busy road. instead of me being able to get somewhere in 10yq#ñ minutes, iy take me three times as long. this also applies to cathedral hill hospital, if it was to be built. why would i want to go to a hospital that is 45 minutes away, when i have st. luke's 10 minutes away from me? i hope cpmc sticks with its promise to keep st. luke's open. knowing the cathedral hill hospital will be a longer commut

as we have heard from others, the members of the excelsior -- engleside police department and community have negative relationship with one another. we incurred in by police officers to take part in the workshops and not necessarily be there as observers but as participants, so that we can start a new dialogue. also to change the training that is required by the police department to have the police officers take part of these conversations so that they are more well-informed and can be members of the community and not looked at as a disembodied force. we would like to also encourage that everyone as individuals would be accountable to the community as a collective. at this point, i want to extend and in by to everybody for our next event on august 10. we are having an open mic called speak your piece. we do not want to feed into the isolation in our community but actually bring people together. helping san francisco's communities build ever upwards. here is another member of our program. her name is a pilot. she will talk about her experiences with us. -- violet. >> hello, my name is vi

we are talking about a working- class community, the excelsior, the bayview, all of these different neighborhoods are smaller enclaves. we still see the same kinds of challenges. when the schools begin to perform a stellar academic programs, businesses will continue to relocate because the employees will want to live in san francisco and want kids to be educated here. it is a cyclical and symbiotic creation ship. another challenges that we have the highest unemployment rate in this part of san francisco. san francisco before, the numbers are starting to come down a little bit. we have high rates in the latter part of last year, but it is starting to -- it is starting to normalize. it goes back to education. what i would like to see our pathways. not everyone will become a doctor, lawyer, or journalist, fantastic tv host. what can we do? we live in a society where we need engineers. we need sound engineers. we need graphic designers. there are people who prefer to learn with their hands. they like mechanics. we need to bring back some shop back in schools and allow people an opportunity for a diff
