we predominantly organize latino families and youth in the mission mission at excelsior district. so we have a group -- we do a lot of our civic engagement, community outreach, they actually go out and inform community it numbers on the street around language access rights. back in december of 2015, i will share a story about one of our community members. we did not ask her to come because the story is too traumatizing for her to relive. i will share a little bit. in december 2015, they brought in a community member that they had met on the street, and she shared with us that she had a very traumatic experience at one of the local clinics. for her, she would always go into this local clinic to see her dentist, and she is a monolingual spanish speaker, but when she would go there, she was never really offered any language services, so then it became very accustomed to this. unfortunately, one of the days when she really needed language access, or interpretation, she was having a procedure done that she did not consent to, and she didn't even realize that it was happening after the

i am a native of san francisco born and raised in excelsior. single mom. i bought my condo in 2007. i am in opposition of this for a few reasons. one. the crime in this neighborhood still exists. i have witnessed two deaths, one active as it was happening. gunshots at night. drinking at the shoreline park. you can't walk down there. if i go down there there are people partying and drinking and acting erratic. sexual activity in cars. myself experienced a gentleman in my car broke in night. my daughter woke up in the morning to go to school and she screams. we run back to the condo. this still exists in the community. i don't think anybody is not in favor of the cannabis dispensary but this neighborhood is not ready for a dispensary. when i come home from work sometimes, sometimes i workdays, sometimes nights. i think about ducking in my car because i don't know when the next gunshot is going to ring out. because i work my butt off to buy a piece of property in san francisco. why do you smell like pot right now? i smelled it. don't go there. traffic in the parking there is a liquor s
