local hiring started at executive park.was executive park along with the community, along with eoc and a lot of other groups that work with the union, and there was one who sat on the board. the purpose for that was to make sure that residents of bayview hunters point would be able to get a job and become a union individual. they would be able to work, and after two weeks, they would be able to join the union, because people were not in the union at that time. there was a lot of discrimination going on at that time. there was a city planner. his name was liable. -- lysle. the freeway of highway 101, to explain that and said deerpark was a part of visitation valley, and we all know that. that is a lie -- to explain that executive park was part of visitation valley. they would give $3 million to that community. i went before the city planning and explain to them that should never have happened. there was never a hearing concerning those lines being drawn illegally. but when it was passed, when supervisor maxwell hired lysle,

. >> i am the original developer of executive park. in 1975, my country joint venture with the scavenger companies that owned the property. world war ii housing was pretty ugly. it was the desire of the scavenger companies to change the visual entrance way to san francisco and to make it an office park. at that time, i met with members of the bayview hunters point coordinating council. it was their idea that we form and the fis recommitted. as a graduate of the ball high school, i still had friends in the community. we were able to gather the folks from that community. i served briefly as the president of leland avenue merchants association. the point i want to get across to you is it has been tremendous community involvement since 1975, with executive park advisory committee combining with visitation valley. there is unfortunately not a dispute as to what the property lines are. having said that, i am really here to answer any questions you may have. i want to thank you for taking your time and look forward to meeting a supervisor --

and i do object to the fact that parking is assumed on a public right-of-way where there is really no city authority executed here to have metered parking or designate this area as parking and it's a leftover piece and by default people park there. i'm not saying there shouldn't be parking in this area supporting the commercial strip, the question is, as we have the opportunity to have a building really occupy the corner and start recreating the street wall, if you look across to the commercial with residential above across fowler avenue, i think we're missing the opportunity to push this project just a little bit further. we have adaptive reuse. we can start from scratch and that's nothing against your building or your use on that side but i think the thing hasn't done anything innovative to ask the next question and that is where i like to suggest to this commission that we continue, give the department more opportunity to work with cvs. again, you have the support in kind, and i personally believe that the pseudo art deco building as an import is a completely wrong building. i think it's unfortunately a b
