what's your expectation from b of a tomorrow? >> we're expecting better than expected numbers.d of the trend we're seeing with most of the banks. revenue growth, pretty flat, but up a little bit from last year. we expect to see the beat, but it's all about the guidance and bank of america, in particular, we're looking for them to contain costs and particularly on the mortgage servicing business. if they can do that, that could help pave the way. but most of the second quarter guidance has been tame at best for the financials, which on a relative basis, relative to the other sectors, has been pretty good. the financials, most of the estimates are going down, but not down as much as the other sectors. >> so this stock has run away, right? bank of america has been one of the ones to own in this whole banking sector. do you think this, a lot the riding on these numbers? >> well, last year it went gangbusters, up over 100%. but this year it's lagging its peers. so it's only up about 5% year-to-date. so, whereas, its peers are up double digits. so it potentially has the ability to go

but revenues came in below expectations, down 3% to $5.8 billion. now, alcoa also said it expects global demand for aluminum to rise by 7% this year and sales of aluminum products to the auto and aerospace industries did very, very well. when i talked to the ceo a short while, i asked him about the outlook for those sectors for the rest of this year. >> we're seeing that there's very strong demand in some of the end markets we cater to. when we look at aero space, aircraft is probably more 12 to 9%, the growth rate. there's an eight-year backlog of planes. so it's a very stable market anding growing nicely. you can see growth in business jets and to regional jets. automotive, automotive in the u.s., which is particularly important for us. it's continuing to grow very, very nicely. we're seeing that it's coming to levels of pre-crisis times. and at the same time we also see that the average age is still higher than it used to be. so there continues to be demand. and what makes me particularly excited is that there's the stronger consumer drive for li

but certainly home builders expecting 40% growth and textiles and luxury growth are expecting 50% growth. they're heavily weighted so that's bringing the overall sector higher. overall, all the industries within consumer discretionary are looking strong for the first quarter. >> the fourth quarter of 2012 was soggy, frankly. is that going to show up in the numbers that some of the industrials and the materials companies report this quarter when we get underway? >> well, analysts think so. especially for the industrials. they're expected to be the biggest lagger, down 2.5% is what the current estimate is. again, like i said, same story with the fourth quarter. seeing weakness within machinery. that sector -- that industry expected to be negative year over year. you know, if you look at some of the numbers, caterpillar last quarter did pretty poorly and they're expected to be down 40% in the first quarter. we saw fedex come out with some pretty poor numbers a couple of weeks ago. missing estimates by 15 cents. so we're expecting air freight and logistics to be down year over year. industri

so let's go to john horwood with what we can expect. in terms of what we can expect, will that dog tail at all with the situation in boston? >> reporter: i don't think so. we know the president is going to be appearing with members of some families effected in newtown. we keep hearing from the white house, from vice president biden, from the senate democratic leadership that they don't consider this background check issue a dead letter even though it fell six votes short of breaking the filibuster that stopped it. got a 54 vote majority in favor. actually 55 before senator reed changed his vote for technical reasons. but it is not clear to me how exactly they can make happen later on what they couldn't make happen today. but nevertheless, i expect the president to continue to put pressure on lawmakers. and given all the confusion, melissa, out of boston today about where exactly the investigation stands, i would expect the president to steer clear from that. especially since we're expecting to hear from law enforcement later this evenin

that's stronger than expected. wall street had been expecting about $210 million, but it is down from a year ago, where we saw $329 million. there are a couple of key metrics here, these metrics that measure how much people are paying and how much they're playing to pay. the monthly active user number decreased, down 13% from a year ago and down 15% from the prior quarter. that is a pretty significant quarter over quarter decline. now, the other key number here is the average daily bookings per user. that's how much people who play every day pay to play. and that declined from the first to the second quarter by 2% and down 11% from the year earlier. one of the numbers that analysts are really going to be focusing on are bookings. the projected bookings, the expected revenue, that's going to come in q2. and it says it's projected to be in the range of 180 to 190 million next quarter, and that is less than what wall street had expected. so it's definitely could put pressure on those results, despite the fact that eps
