and as we check out our exploratorium camera, that's beautiful. but the temperatures are really cold. we're talking about 30s here. 31 in santa rosa. 3027 in petaluma. looking at low 30s napa. 32 in fairfield. so with the clear sky, it's going to take a minute for things to really warm up. in fact, we're 24 hours ago we had even slightly milder conditions with a slight wind by the delta. six degrees cooler there, two degrees cooler in san jose. and as we go through the next several hours, we've got some high clouds that will mar the sunshine just a little bit, but that's going to assist in warming us up today and then for tomorrow. stopping this at 430, you'll notice that rain is knocking on our door. it's not the atmospheric river. not everyone is going to see it, and it won't be impacting the evening commute for everyone. so we'll talk about that in detail. wednesday. some showers and then the main event on thursday. gloria. yeah. >> while we don't have that rain this morning, it is pretty chilly out there. we have a frost advisory in effect for

live views from our tower cameras and they are rainy views from san jose to exploratorium, certainly windy from mount tam. and the sierra is looking at the powder rainfall so far the last 24 hours, over a half a foot of rain in venado, almost that in marin at the marin civic center, san francisco. more than two inches richmond, over three inches san jose. you're adding up now? it's only a half an inch so far, but that's going to change. ben lomond over 3.6in of rain through this evening. this is a strong level three storm. flooding rain continues. windy. chance of thunderstorms, downed trees and power lines as we go. hour by hour 6:00 to 630. still, the activity is in the southern part of our viewing area and the eastern part. as we head toward 730. it is starting to push on out of here, and by 830, most areas are just seeing a lingering cloud cover. so that will be a nice change of pace for people to dry out. we certainly need the rain, but this is all happening all at once today, taking a look at additional rainfall totals up to three quarters of an inch there in the south bay. win

and as we look at a live picture from our exploratorium camera, tomorrow morning is going to look likes. there is going to be some gray sky. pockets of low visibility and still a few showers. as you look at live doppler seven, we are tracking them for you. mount hamilton area. we are looking at some of those showers at this hour and widening the picture here. this is still a level two because of the fact that there is potential for some more issues. so let's take a look at the storm reports. you will notice that there have been 32 so far. many of those are wind damage and debris flows and flooding. so we've had some rain. as you look at the wider perspective here, the rain was steadiest across most of the state and the sierra was getting that snow. it is headed toward southern california now. the burn scar areas could see the potential for some issues. first, let's look at our area through early tomorrow morning. the weather prediction center has us in that excessive rain outlook, a marginal risk for parts of the bay area. and this really stretches across parts of the central valley an

from our exploratorium camera.francisco now, the russian river at guerneville crested at 10 a.m, 36.5ft. there was moderate flooding, but you can see it has been receding since then. there's still a flood warning until 4 a.m. tomorrow. this will likely get extended as more rain comes in and there could be some issues. now, i do want to show you that level two storm. it is not a three. it is a two. we will see our rain chances increasing as early as 8 a.m. and continuing through the night. so as we look at the timeline here, by 8:00 most areas are getting wet. 11 a.m. pockets of moderate rain. it turns more scattered by 3:00 in the afternoon, and this continues through the evening commute, so watch out. there could be some ponding on the roadways and certainly some wind damage like trees toppling. there will be scattered lighter showers for your friday through the early afternoon hours. the winds are going o crank up. not as strong as the last event, but close to 50 miles an hour and in some cases, even a little bit

a live look as some of the heavier showers falling on our exploratorium camera. tahoe. heavy snow is falling right now and this winter storm is just getting started. we have a winter storm warning in effect this until tomorrow, so do not try to go to tahoe today or even tomorrow. wait until saturday because we have feet of snow coming. it's going to take time to clear some of the snow from our roads. so take a look. look at these impressive numbers we have coming our way. this is likely the biggest snow storm of the season. you'll notice a snowfall totals measured in feet on some of our highest peaks like donner and kirkwood. snowfall levels are fluctuating around five 6000ft, so even blue canyon could get close to a foot of snow lake level. we're talking 1 to 2ft of snow back here at home. live doppler seven is showing you we have just been in out of the heavy rain all morning long. we've seen 1 to 4in of rain already. that is causing a lot of issues out there when it comes to standing water on our roads, and even the potential for flash flooding in the santa cr
