. >> host: sarah weinman, we talked to several purchasers here at can book expo america, the industry convention, and we talked about ebooks, and where they sit when it comes to the revenue. overall, what percentage of revenues per publisher is from ebooks sniff you're looking at trade publishing hours -- use the term the big six, and other larger and mid-size publishing houses. ebooks are luge and -- huge and growing revenue. when the aap released numbers for february statistics, i believe that ebook sales in february were 92.5 million they tracked and that made up about 26% of overall trade sales. a number of the largest publishers are reporting well in excess of 20% of overall trade sales quarter after quarter. the numbers fluctuate, depending on how things are doing. they're also books that i think add an artificial bump. for example, suzanne collins, the hunger games, because those books are selling phenomenally well, the movie doesn't hurt -- but it sold so well that scholastic had to issue a separate press release after the issued third quarterly numbers to say it's going to be

. >> we are here at book expo america, the book publishing industry annual convention in new york city. how important is a convention like this to your business? >> i think it's incredibly important, especially now when everybody is just talking about the physical book versus the e-book. it's all about reading. that's all that getting excited about the books. look at all these great covers, and then walking over to the others and just doing what people are excited about. is really important to get the dialogue going. >> as director of publicity, how has your job changed in the last couple of years with the advent of e-books, et cetera? >> its change in terms of our focus on social media. our mainstream media, npr and the review coverage really important and crucial as ever. but also our social media campaigns have just grown exponentially. and i just know that we been really focusing on the social media and the blogs as a really important part of our campaign in launching a book. and the office presence online as well is really important. >> i want to ask you about one more well-known

applause] >> well, well known author, jeffrey toobin is joining us here in new york city at book expo america to talk about his new upcoming book, "the oath: the obama white house v. the supreme court." mr. toobin, went to concentrate on the versus prior. is there -- [inaudible] >> you bet there is. this is a moment where we have a liberal democratic resident and a conservative dominated the supreme court and issue after ratio, you see a real conflict. the >> what are some examples of the conflict? >> the most dramatic we have already seen is the case where the court struck down the miss from corporate giving campaigns, but in a broader sense, set in motion a process of tea regulating american campaigns. and in a remarkably vivid demonstration of the conflict, many people were a member of the 2010th save the union address, what the president attacked the spring court to their face and samuel alito and beyond and shook his head and said not true. and the supreme court often just an abstraction. what i loved was that was not abstract. it was concrete and he saw the conflict. of course the healt

. >> robert sullivan at book expo america. the book publishing annual industry convention. >> were you reading this summer? booktv wants to know. we met i am wrapping up citizens of london which came out a couple of years ago in august. history during the war, three very prominent people. edward armour all, he was reporting back to the united states with rather strongly held views that we should get into the war. and an individual that was sent by president roosevelt who is dealing with the land lease program, coordinating the program for england. and the ambassador. a fellow named winer, who had replaced joseph kennedy, president kennedy's father, joseph kennedy was partial to the germans, of course. and i suspect that is the reason that roosevelt brought him home. it is a marvelous book about the three of them and their interaction with churchill. and their advocacy their aggressive advocacy of the united states breaking out of this isolationist mode and getting into the war the author had previously written a wonderful book
