at the white house, danielle nottingham, wjz eyewitness news. >>> this uprising in egypt is the longest one since the 18- day stretch of protesters that ultimately led to the fall of hosni mubarak. >>> children and youth services are looking into new alleged cases of child sex abuse against jerry sandusky. we have more on the penn state scand. >> the two new cases were reported less than 60 days ago and one of them is a member of the sandusky family. children and youth services is investigating the allegations against sandusky because the alleged victims are still in the age of 18. the former defensive coordinator for penn state faces 40 criminal counts for allegedly sexually abusing eight boys over a 15-year period. 67-year-old sandusky says he is innocent. sandusky is out on $100,000 bail but his status could change based on these new charges. >> all right, thank you. >>> penn state's head coach joe paterno and the president of the university were fired for not reporting the allegations. >>> a man with knives, a police officer with a gun. both came together in a baltimore city street.

thank you for staying with wjz eyewitness news. are some of the stories people are talking about tonight. we're following breaking news from west baltimore. sky eye chopper 13 is over the scene of a shooting. let's go to captain mike perry with details. mike? >> hello, kai. we are in west baltimore at franklin town and edmondson. this is edmond son and franklintown, where a shooting occurred a short time ago. police were called. we know that an adult male was shot here. you can see that some of the paramedics supplies that were left in the center of the roadway. that person has been transported to a local area hospital. we know only that it is an adult male at this point. and it's not clear whether this happened as a result of a robbery or anything like that. but police have completely closed edmondson avenue in franklin town in both directions. homicide are en route to the scene, conducting their investigation. but at this point, it's not clear what has happened, as far as the victim being transported. back to you. >> captain mike

thank you for staying with wjz eyewitness news. aking news we have been following all night. a maryland politician, accused of bribery is acquitted. a jury finds state senator ulysses currie not guilty on all charges. wjz is live. derek valcourt is outside the federal courthouse, where the senator just spoke out. derek? >> mary, this was a complete exoneration, not guilty on all nine of the charges against senator senator currie. and the two former executives, accused of giving him the bribes. the jury clearly accepting that his paid consulting relationship with shoppers foodwarehouse was perfectly legal, and not the secret bribery scheme that prosecutors made it out to be. it has been hanging over the 74- year-old senator's head the last three years. tonight, he says he is overwhelmed by this not-guilty verdict. >> it's hard to explain. this has been a rough four years. almost four years. for my wife, my family and i. and also for my constituents. so this is the greatest moment of my life. >> reporter: currie says he holds no grudg
