individuals, f.b.i. employees, and f.b.i.acilities because of the uptick we saw over that time period. mr. cohen: the january 6 was beyond a weaponization of government. it was a nuclearization of government. against the government. i believe i heard you said you didn't have prior notice or reason to believe there would be such an event on january 6, is that correct? director wray: we did not, to my knowledge, at least, have prior knowledge of an attempt violent overthrow and breach of the capitol building itself. certainly we were concerned about and put out a number of products, intelligence products to partners and others warning of potential for violence more generally on that date. mr. cohen: so there have been -- tucker karlsson -- carlson and some of the other colleagues on the other side of the aisle said that ray epps was a secret government agent helping to encourage this crime to make the president look bad. do you have any knowledge of him being a secret government agent? director wray: no. i will say this notion

the f.b.i. is a premier law enforcement agencies and i support law enforcement. to attack the f.b.i. is to attack law enforcement in general. two days after mar-a-lago there was some individual went after the cincinnati headquarters of the f.b.i. how do you think that came about? >> so the incident that you are asking about was deeply dist disturbing. we had an individual wearing a tactic call vest and gun and nail gun who tried to attack the cincinnati field office. a subsequent review of the subject's devices and online postings identified a pretty striking anti-f.b.i., anti-federal law enforcement hostility. he was calling on others to kill federal law enforcement claiming he felt he was fighting in his words a civil war. it is unfortunately part of a broader phenomenon that we have seen not just against the f.b.i. this is important to add, but against law enforcement all across the country. not just against law enforcement professionals themselves, which is appalling enough, but calling for

the f.b.i. in his opening statement. >> hi. this comes at an interesting time right now with the f.b.i. in the news. director wray wants to focus on the f.b.i. he sees. that is what he will call it in his opening statement. one of the big topics that will come up is the hunter biden investigation and the fd1023 form. a standard form used by f.b.i. sources to document an allegation. members of congress, republicans and democrats last month saw the form that allegedly contains a claim that then vice president joe biden accepted a bribe for a policy change. there are questions about this form, republicans say more should be unredacted and asked about the hunter biden plea deal that hasn't been signed off by a judge. expect director wray to put the onus on the department of justice. the third big thing is the f.b.i.'s reputation. you heard jim jordan, the chairman of the judiciary committee in the last hour say they don't want the new f.b.i. headquarters to actually be in the dmv, the dc, maryland,

the f.b.i.'s investigation of trump campaign associates. in 29 applications that the f.b.i. made to the fisa court, i.g. found in 25 of them, there was unsupported, or inconsistent information totalling more than 200 instances where they were unsupported or omitted information. the f.b.i. was unable to even locate the woods' file -- yeah for the other four applications. and found over 400 instances with woods' procedures over 29 samples. director wray testified before this committee and told the people should not lose any sleep over the vast majority of fisa applications. former director comey labeled fisa a top-entire program. it was revealed that they failed to recognize the significant risk poe posed by the noncompliance of the woods' procedures which provide the justification for fisa applications. in may of this year, john durham released his report. that report not only backed up inspector general horowitz's findings but political and bias lied to the foreign intelligence surveillance cour
