and hello everyone, at home, and that's right, i'm in fairdale, illinois. about 70 miles to the west to the city of chicago. and a massive tornado struck this town yesterday afternoon. complete destruction here in the town of fairdale. we understand that every single home either suffered damage or were completely destroyed. and i also understand there will be a press conference at 9:00 a.m. eastern time here in the town of fairdale. they'll be providing us with the latest information. and what we do know due to the severity of the damage, the fire department is helping to respond to the damage here in fairdale. and, again, we understand that every home sustained some form of damage and at least 17 structures completely destroyed. and the town south of here just a few miles south of here, rochelle, there was a restaurant that was destroyed by another tornado as another storm ripped through that area. and crews were rescuing people from debris there. this was all part of a storm that produced severe weather not only in illinois but across parts of iowa, missou
