. >> the crash was just after 11:00 last night at lee highway in germantown road in the city of fairfax. delia goncalves is live there this morning with the latest on what we know. over to you. >> pretty devastating accident. as daylight breaks, we can see a little more of what police and investigators have determined so far at the scene. you can see some of the markings on the road here. we have spoken to a couple of eyewitnesses. according to eyewitnesses, the sedan was traveling in the far lane. that's the eastbound lane where you can see this traffic heading in that direction. that's where the eyewitness said the sedan was traveling in that direction when it t-boned the minivan that was taking the left turn into the shopping plaza. it's not confirmed by police but the eyewitness tells us the minivan was then thrown about 45 feet knocking down a pole and landing right over here. we can see the markings of each tire back here in the westbound lanes. this dramatic video just fed into our newsroom a short time ago shows fire crews rescuing the 38-year-old male driver of the minivan. we'
