the petition filed by fairfax county public schools. in 2006, dalia butler truthfully disclosed her felony conviction. that conviction happened back in 1992. butler was convi of conspiracy to import narcotics. she spent 42 months behind bars. the document goes on to say that the county mistakenly hired butler, thinking that she was eligible for employment. how did the school system find out about it? in 2012, butler apparently asked if her conviction would interfere with a promotion. at that point, the school system investigated and they found six other felons working within the school system. all were let go to comply with policy. >> we have systems in place. it cannot happen again. and the reason has come to public light now because it's taken that long to go through the legal process. >> reporter: going through our social media page, both on facebook and twitter. butler is getting a lot of support as well. frank posted that she served her time in prison and society needs to give a second chance. join the conversation. head over to nb

at 5:00, concern in fairfax county after what appears to be 5:00, concernw at and fairfax county after what appears to be a random attack on a teenage boy. two men stabbed him in his upper body. stephen, what have you found out about this case? to aon, the boy was taken nearby hospital, treated for his injuries, and released. this was the stretch he was running along. he ran into this mcdonald's, screaming for help. i talked to a woman who said she called 911. she said this was a diminutive 12-year-old, a very little boy. she and others are wondering why three men would attack this child. near homes walking depot, three men attacked him -- while he was walking your home depot, three men attacked him. one of them stabbed the boy. people at the string of shopping locations at seven corners -- the men left the boy bloodied and terrified. he ran into this mcdonald's, screaming for help. >> it was crazy. >> police are concerned about what started the incident. there was apparently no connection between the assailants in the young victim. it is my life. i don't know. it is nothing you really

it happened on town manor court in the alexandria section of fairfax county. there were two people at home at the time when the fire started just before 3:00 a.m., and one of them warushed to the hospital with burns. fairfax county op erators also rescued four dogs from the house giving them oxygen, but a fifth dog did die. the flames did not spread to neighboring homes. >>> this afternoon the police in fredrick know the identity of the man found dead along a busy highway. it happened near the entrance of route 55 car dealership there, and the police say no obvious injuries except for abrasions on the left elbow. the state examiner is looking into that death. that area of fredrick is a busy commercial strip. >> you could soon have to pay more in national mall and potomac. right now the spots near the mall are free, but with time limits and the rates would be the same as downtown d.c. meters, and the park service hopes it would discourage the commuters from using the spots and encourage tourists to use public transportation, and it also calls for a circular rou
