fairfield and concord also in the mid-50s. air quality is nasty yesterday. that smoke went right from fairfield, right down the 680 corridor, all the way to the 49ers game in santa clara. it was a thin band of smoke. but where it was smoky, the air quality, the hqi index jumped up to 209. that is very unhealthy. happy to report right now it's down to 29, which is back in the good range and should be good to moderate tom. but any proximity to a fire will keep the air quality hazy especially out towards vacaville and also in the city of fairfield. winds are starting to flip. we had a ridge of high pressure that is simply changing location. the area of low pressure off to the east, which really cranked up the north wind in the mountains, gusting up to 70 miles per hour in the higher hills of napa county. that low is moving, so the difference in pressure over the bay area is less than it was 24 hours ago. as this ridge gets closer, it'll get even less. breeze is not concern tomorrow and winds flipped onshore. the ocean is still chilly. we will bring back the low
