all the counties in red, newberry, fairfield counties, landon cassill cher, chester, union, lawrence, across to greenwood, north and west of columbia, flash flood warnings. that's courtesy of an awful lot of rain. some portions in the northern edge of newberry county, three inches of rain just last night. when you get down into columbia, maybe a quarter of an inch. a lot less rain farther south. this swath of rain continues into georgia and continues well back even towards atlanta. it's going to take some time before all of this rings on through. again, we'll have to be watching out for flash flooding right through tonight and then things and we'll get a bit of a break with that. let's give you the temperatures here. where it's raining it's cold. 63 columbia. the rest of us, another warm late december afternoon. again, mid-70s for most of us. as we look at what's going on in terms of the visibility, i want to show you in comdan, down to three -- camden, down to three miles. what's happening here, we're looking at situations where the fog will be setting in especially as we go into ton

this is for northern fairfield county. this goes until 5:45 p.m. later this afternoon. you can see we are still under a flood watch. this covers all the counties along i-20 and points north all the way into the upstate until 7:00 tomorrow morning. there is no stopping yet. there is still a lot of showers and thunderstorms moving through. it has cooled off up in newberry right now. and 64 degrees there. winnsboro, 68. saint matthews, 75. columbia at 75. this is all in association with this front of that is pulling an all of that moisture. the models are showing that between now and 7:00 tonight, we could be seeing an additional one up to one and a half inches of rain. pretty much along and on both sides of i-20. by no columbia has only gotten about a tenth of an inch of rain. most of the rain has been concentrated to the northern counties. we do expect that some of the rain will start to move down. don't be surprised if we see even more rain as we go throughout e afternoon and evening. into the lower to middle 70s. we're still dealing with the rain later this evening. low

that has shifted from newberry into fairfield county with thunderstorms. heavy downpours over chester county come up county and fairfield county. more expected with showers in georgia that will work their way there may be an isolated shower today, but by 4:00 or 5:00, all of it shifts are there to the south and we get a chance to finally clear up and cool down. rainfall amounts yesterday reached over two inches for anderson. almost three inches for greenwood. at gsp for the month of december, a shy of 10 inches of rara. four inches is normal. we have had more than twice are normal rainfall for the last three months in a row. temperatures in the upper 50's to mid 60's. 65 and greenwood. low 50's in the mountains. breezes coming out of the north and it pick up 10 to 15 plus in north carolina with a northerly flow in the upstate this afternoon. cooler temperatures tomorrow by a good 10 degrees. one more day into the afternoon that we will seek scattered better whether or drier weather coming. lots of sunshine expected not only tomorrow, but this weekend. here

rain in parts of lexington, newberry in fairfield counties, near the newberry county line, that has water on the runway. at the roads having problems, we picked up a report of 2 inches of rain to the west of the town of lexington. show you what is going on. the front is stationary across north carolina, back towards the atlanta area, focal point of a lot ofofain this morning, one reason they've seen so much, that has been the main weather feature in the country across the rest of the country, cold, cloudy, but we are getting the rain in and warm. this is a look at the dewpoint temperatures. to measure the amount of moisture, the higher the dewpoint and temperature are more moisture there is an we've seen tropical moisture in the midlands for the day. heavy rain, the front you can see, that separates the humid air to the east and drier air to the west. we've also seeing rain to the northwestern half of the state, 64 in greenwood, 74 in sumter, 77 and orangeburg. computer model indicates the rain should diminish this evening, and we're seeing it on radar. this may be aggressive in diminishi

there are still some counties under flood watches this morning, including newberry, mccormick, fairfield county, and saluda. gsp. in greenwood. we are pushing nearly 10 inches of rain for the month in gsp. 4 inches is average. 59 in greenville currently. that will drop a few degrees and thing climb to the mid-60's. the mid 50's in the mountains will do the same. they will drop a little bit and then returned to the mid to upper 50's. eventually will see winds out of the north. 32 in the morning and 52 in the afternoon. that is typical for this time at the end of december. we are going to see that this weekend and into the first of next week. today, we will get up to 65. the record is 72, set back in 1976. 55 today at the asheville regional airport. the record is 81 degrees, said back in 1951. we can have these unusual patterns from time t ttime. that beats colder than normal and ice. still, some rain in the this cooler and drier air makes its way south. here is the future plus. we see a few isolated showers upper parts of the upstate. they clears up by 5:00 this afternoon. the midlands will see

suffolk county here and when you go to coastal connecticut, new haven and fairfield county, a couple of showers down the shore. all this seems to be pushing off to the north. we get into the evening commute. you'll see the temperatures get to around 60, 61, 62 on our computer model at 4:00, our futurecast and then tonight we get a break. you're out and about tonight. it will be warm. you're talking about upper 50s to low 50s, mid-50s overnight, and then tomorrow we get to noontime. we've got rain at noon tomorrow from the city southward. rain running over us, and look at these temperatures tomorrow night we're into the low 60s. we're at 67 after midnight, and then to start the day tomorrow and by the time we get to noontime we're into the low 70s. that's the record high broken right there. so anything after that is what i call extra credit. if we get to 75 we tie the all- time warmest day for the month of december in new york city, and that was 75 set back in 1998, which was a very hot year. for the afternoon these temperatures just keep dropping, and after school i think the rain's
