at far southeast family strengthening collaborative, we're here as a family and we treat you as a family when you come in. if your heart is there, you're willing to help the families, i think we can make a great impact in the ward 8 community. erica, talk a little bit about what you do and how families can access your services. so what i do is i am a family support specialist and what my program does is we provide peer engagement workers. we're all in recovery ourselves and we go out to the family and we talk with the mother and we really-we get on her level and we assess her needs and what the family needs and what we can do to help them continue in their recovery and we really work on making sure that they have access to all of the resources in the community. and on top of that, we do our best to coordinate care with all their other services like you were talking about with collaborating. you know, i think it's really important for our families, most of them have involvement with the department of children and families, and you know, so we stay in close contact with the department, wit

the economic and family circumstances for everyone were pretty dire.gs, i saw terrible poverty, crime, drugs, hopelessness and violence and joblessness but that was not all that we had. those people that i grew up have something else, a fighting experience resilience, those people found it in themselves to help their neighbors family and friends however they could. we relied upon each other and out of the crisis we created a great community. this is the spirit of san francisco. and that is why i am so thrilled to be able to speak to you today and now, because so many of you watching are my family, my friends, people who form the same communities that raised me up from difficult beginnings into the woman i am today. i can think of no more important calling than to use the skills and my energy to give back to all of you in any way that i can. that is what has led me through so many of my life's endeavors volunteering in the major's office as a teenager, and serving on the san francisco redevelopment agency commission sxh the fire commission and just rece

he lived his family. his grandmother, an artist, had a number of paintings at the old mint in san francisco. they reflected scenes from that part of california. he took us down there and proudly showed us her work. although he traveled the world his family was always in his thoughts. california was always his home. what i will most remember about chris is how thoughtful he was and how people were drawn to him. chancellor wu wrote when chris was appointed ambassador, friends, professional acquaintances contacted me to encourage me to reach out to him. he was so well thought of. i sent a hand-written card and to my surprise he returned the correspondence with his own handwritten note. that would be very much like chris. he appreciated and enjoyed interactions with people. in fact, our friend chris highland put it very eloquently when he said, chris was the finest among us. more than his obviously charms, he was a man of substance and humility. at parties, dinners and gatherings he spent little times talking

these were originally built as family homes with enough space for families. and maybe we will see more of an ability for people to convert these back to their original sizes by building more the small unit to accommodate that are the market that need smaller units and doesn't want larger, family size units at this time. even the buildings in the 20s and 30s, even if they are one-bedrooms they have gracious room sizes. you feel more comfortable than you do in small units. for what it is, it is well done, able to get that many units in that amount of space is quite well-designed. i'm going to support it. i will like to see it in a different iteration. on the design, i want to make sure that on the large section of the project fronts market street between the flat iron area and the area at the terminus of the building, we have large areas of sort of a lot of windows, not sure what the material, maybe the architect and tell me if it is metal or stucco or what the exterior siding is. it seems to me that the exception of the few areas, where color has been injected
