farley in -- john farley. you were tracking this thing before it even touched the ground. >> yeah. as we went to the afternoon, jonathan and i were looking at this. the way the radar works, it shoots up in the clouds. it sees the rotation. we could see this thing developing and yes, it did touch down. behind me is the map that the weather service put out. let's go to that. i will show you where it touched down and what the story was on this tornado. it was an ef--0, it had winds of 85 miles an hour and it touched down right near charleston and dixiana road, just north of the farmers market. it was on the ground for about half a mile. they say .6 miles. the width between 50, 75 yard and then grace will be talking about some of the damage that came through and it touched down at 2:28. 2:28 this afternoon. let's talk about what's happening with the radar. as you can see, there is a lot of green. but this is light to moderate no more severe threat going out there. that said, what we do have is all of this moisture left over and temperatures are just not gonna drop that far. we are nato

up next, chief meteorologist john farley is calling it a wintery mix. it's what m some of you could be dealing with tomorrow morning. next. >>> welcome back. a little bit of freezing rain in the forecast but not that much. small impacts late tonight, early tomorrow morning, and then it turns all over to rain. let's give you the setup here on any freezing rain event that we cold air. in our case, what happens is this all spills down the east side of the appalachians. you've got a shallow layer of cold air, 500 feet thick, something like. that early tomorrow morning a little moisture over the top. so the rain comes out and falls through and freezes as it hits. butt again, there's just not going to be a lot of moisture with this one so don't expect much, in any, problems. everybody will be cold enough for freezingain at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. the issue is, not a lot of moisture with it. 8, 9 o'clock, something like that, again, same story, a little freezing rain but not a lot of moisture. we continue later on in the morning by 10 o'clock. when you'll

john farley is tracking these rainy conditions. >> that's right. we have rain out there tonight for the northwestern, say, third of the midlands. columbia south and east there's drizzle. as we get in close you will see newberry, fairfield and there's more out there. look what's off to the south and west. this pocket will be in here during the morning commute and then there's more off to the southwest. that will be in here later in the day. so let's start you with temperatures. it's still pretty warm outside. we're around 60 in columbia. everybody else not fa that that far away. tomorrow morning it won't be very cold but there will be a few showers in play. so plan on some wet roads. accidents all over the praise. place. take it slowly. the forecast is active in the first of the day until 9:00ing 10:00. then a break, then it picks up again afternoon and evening. now, tomorrow, mainly we're talklkg rain. that said, as we go into wednesday, we could be talking about a whole different situation. strong storms, possibly severe during the middle part of

miss mary is very brave. >>> john farley is up next with keep it right here. >>> okay. we're looking at a cold weekend.let's get right to that and we'll talk about the warmup. blustery tomorrow and that's when the cold air is gonna be pushing in, especially late tomorrow afternoon and evening. cold on sunday. not so much wind but cold and then monday we're back at the with rain. the whole story is this -- a big pocket of very cold air coming actually. and there's plenty of cold air with this coming all the way down to the panhandle of florida, even toward the gulf. we'll be on the southern fringe but we'll get our share of cold air. i will get to specific numbers in a second. the other thing i want to show you, this little pocket of energy, this is the temperature map. starting at 8:00, watch the deep purples as they come through and northern new england. these guys are forecasting temperatures to be 15, 20 degrees below zero. throw the wind on top of that, it will feel like 35 below zero in places. really dangerous, actually. but it doesn't last too long. even watch us

chief meteorologist john farley joins us now with a look at what it's like just right outside our windows. >> yeah, you two, what's going on here, that storm is finally, finally pushing off the coast. a couple of last gasp showers. the temperatures are also coming down. we're in the 50s right now, 40s for a few of us. compare that to last night at this time where in the range of ten degrees cooler and that's what we should get used to. we're not going to see any warm temperatures for a little bit. in the 7-day forecast, there are no warm temperatures there. so getting going tomorrow a little breezy, but it will be clear. temperatures will dip down to around 40 kicking it off tomorrow morning. as we go through the day, a breeze from the north and temperatures will climb to the low 50s. that's as far as she goes. we'll be looking at 20s in the forecast. we'll get specific when that will map coming up in just a bit. >> john, thanks. >>> one business is assessing the damage left behind f fm yesterday's storms. >> there's a lot of cleanup left but people are counting their blessings. jennifer
