i'm harris faulkner. we begin tonight with our top story that is breaking this hour with what could be a tipping point in iraq. we are getting new reports now, yet another town has fallen into the hands of brutal terrorist fighters and may sound familiar to you. tal afar. that battle went on for 2000 days -- two two days. iraq's mill has launched a counteroffensive with air strikes as they try to stop the group of sunni islamic militants, isis. it controls a large swath of territory, spanning from eastern syria all the way to baghdad. some brutal images are now emerging from that area. some of those images are graphic. terrorist fighters are lining up personnel and executing them. fueling all of this, sectarian tensions of generations. there's military checkpoints throughout the city there and the u.s. state department is announcing security is being stepped up and some staff are being moved out of our u.s. embassy there in baghdad to other cities in the country and maybing -- maybe -- neighboring jordan.
