making it way to the east now, you can see it entering fauquier county, rappahannock county, towards frederick, washington. we'll zoom in and show you where we're seeing this rain right here. just to the east of winchester. it's coming through winchester. 64 degrees. a very cool afternoon. these are along route 50 here and right along 66. notice some heavier rain coming through the area. not a whole lot of lightning. not a lot of thunder. you may see 30, 40 miles an hour wind out of this. but you'll see an occasional lightning bolt. this is not severe weather. but it's much-needed rainfall. if you live in marshall, warren ton, heads up for you. you'll see the rain move through in 10 to 20 minutes. blue mont, western portions of lou down county, that rain is moving your way. head up to the west of the mountains here. you're starting to see some thunder and lightning once again. nothing severe but a stronger storm making its way down i-70. heads up around frederick. that will be in your yar in the next 20 to 30 minutes. we have rain trying to move in. we'll see how far it makes to the

temperatures have cooled off a bit and we have some we didn't watch this and driving across to fauquier county. and this is north of you. south of the planes -- plains. and haven't seen any lightning. the reflectivity pattern is so strong from some of these thunderstorms and they have a thundershower out there. i am working on it. very few and far between. i think that by 7:00, temperatures will cool down into the lower 80s and a possibility of the spotty showers and storms. i wouldn't worry about an umbrella and you -- umbrella. you will need it for this weekend, though. clouds at 9:00, 78 degrees and some clouds at 11:00 and with that 74. there are a possibility of -- possibility of light showers from the south later on this evening and some better chances of that this evening and overnight tonight and look at the rain from the south and that is what we're getting into. had this is the setup. the area of low pressure tomorrow and all the slow will be coming off of the ocean bringing in this moisture in. at times, we're going to have some periods of showers and looks like cloudy all day long.

parts of virginia out to the west, fauquier county, a lot of northern sections of prince william county, spotty through loudoun county, it didn't really get much at all. most of this was concentrated up through the center part of the viewing area here. a couple little areas, hotspots, if you will, one for northern sections of montgomery county up into southern parts of frederick county. this little area received as much as 1 inch to maybe 1 1/2 inches. this is doppler estimated rainfall totals. so they're not exact, but we found they do a real good job. outside of these hotspots not much at all, maybe .1-inch, maybe .2-inch, but as we drill down farther into the city, right here northwestern areas, this is where they did have a thunderstorm that produced a lot of rain. how much? in the bull's eye a little bit more than 2 inches of rain there in northwest. this was the thunderstorm that seemed to be just following tom around today, okay? so if you were around this area, tom was there, too and then as you kind of spread out from that, rain totals were a little less farther to the western

farther west, much of northern virginia in fairfax county and loudoun and fauquier. g up towards gaithersburg and frederick in montgomery county and howard county, generally low 70s now. here's the radar over the last several hours. we've had some waves of rain, some showers moving inland. as they do move inland, they tend to break down a bit. there were some heavier downpours earlier this morning in the northern neck of virginia. as they do come back closer to the metro area, they are weakening a bit. still this area in green just a few sprinkles, light rain now. anne arundel, calvert, southern prince george's county, and into parts of charles county. farther to the west now, just crossing the potomac, coming up toward alexandria down to dale city, right along 95 from quantico to fredericksburg, pavement beginning to get a little bit wet there. all of this associated with an area of low pressure. it's weak low pressure along the atlantic sea board. it's bringing in some of this tropical moisture coming in off the warmer waters of the gulfstream, moving it inland. as
