i was fortunate to find the fillmore house. my wife and i have fond memories of our time of the house. the level of housekeeping and upkeep is what i have come to expect at hotels. david was quick to reply and was sufficient and helpful. when there were two-month leases, we chose to rent a storage space at a house, where we left our belongings while we went on vacation. i am back in the bay area, and if i am on able to attend it is because of my duty to my customers. i wish i kayhan be there. i was deeply saddened -- i wish i could be there. i was deeply saddened. this place offers an alternative to cold and impersonal hotels or binding contracts. i have met a large number of other occupants and had no problem with any of them. we have become friends and have dinner together. they were gracious to offer to throw a party for our anniversary. i have never felt there was anything wrong with the house, the attendance, or the venice next -- or the management and recommend it to anyone who is considering visiting san francisco. my na

i want to respond to the comments regarding the outreach to the western addition, fillmore, and the jazz heritage area. we have been listening to and have been taking action on the request to reach out further and more closely to those areas. we held a community organization roundtable in may of this year. we invited members of community organizations in to talk about what they might want and what they might seek from the sfjazz and to see how we could benefit in partnerships. representation that that committee -- commended the session that we had, there were members of the jazz heritage center there in the jazz heritage district. and they all thank us for having that open forum, because they felt it was a good step to building the bridges across all the different organizations involved in jazz in music education. and we all promised together to continue that collaboration going forward. since then, we have established in committed to, with the jazz heritage center, a discover jazz series on women. that is going to be held in the spring. it is part of our spring catalog and part of the j

are the opportunities i hear as we celebrate black history month, especially the residents of the fillmore know it in both ways, that has struggled through decade of urban renewal and through its own chals that we're reminded here in the city of san francisco that these challenges wrb certainly ones we are confronted by every day but amazing things are happening here. we have just now selected our first chinese-american, asian-american mayor in the city of san francisco. [applause] on the board of supervisors, 11 of us, eight of us, eight members of the board of supervisors are people of color. this is true representation. but what has laid the foundation of the great muscle that has made san francisco well known in its reputation as being forward thinking also obligates us to answering the other questions some of the chals that i remarked on especially as it concerns the african-american population in after. i'm not so sure that the numbers really have dropped to 3.%. that's a quick drop from 6.2 two years ago. but whatever the case is, that decline in population is a healthy reminder tha
