i just want to say too, thank you to all the people in our fire department who responded to the fires on my block of late and knocked them out very quickly. the whole neighborhood was so appreciative, felt cared for everyone was super professional of course, but i felt very proud to be a small part of that. how that happened. the point of personal privilege, the difficult situation with that house because it is two fires in the same home is emblematic of so much of what is wrong now and what's not working and so many departments telling not just me, but various people on my block, there is nothing we can do. to me that is unacceptable and the fire department did everything they can do, but there is reliance on other departments and it's harmful to all of us and all of our departments if we are not able to do anything in a situation that is dangerous, neglectful, abusive all most, and i'm not going into a lot of detail, about we can talk about all this later. i do want to say the fire department has been super responsive and i'm grateful for that. >> again, if i can say for clarificati

but that is the next bond for the fire department. so it's quite a ways off on this past sunday, i went to two events. i went to the fire velo bike ride. folks came across the golden gate bridge from marin to station 51 in the presidio. and it is part of a group of folks that ride their bikes from here to los angeles to raise money for cancer prevention in the fire service. and we honored two of our fallen members, jerry murphy and brock wells and their families were there to take part in that. it was a nice event. and then i went to treasure island. there was a women's boot camp on treasure island on sunday. a lot of young women out there being sort of led and trained and mentored by a lot of our women in the department. and so it's really nice to see all our young women out there getting involved with this, with this event. and then as you all may know, i have been there have been a whole lot of interviews with the press regarding autonomous vehicles. and i don't think that we could have predicted it any better than we did when we sp

fire department has a lot of concerns around lithium ion batteries. there is press around the fire started particularly by electric scooters and other types of mobile batteries and i think we are looking to explore are there ways to-what are the fire safety characteristics of the home storage batteries that typically install along with roof top solar, and looking at is there a way to delineate a safer category of battery that we can allow without installing sprinklers that is prohibitive, which is a area that is really limiting the expansion of significant battery storage in san francisco. that's the first phase we are tackling and goting initial comments from those departments i mentioned and excited to dig into that. planning a second phase that looks at broader fildings, multifamily apartments, looking front of the meeting storage and then host of related issues around labor and workforce issues while customer technical support is needed to ramp up. just looking for a study to point the way on policies and regulations that can promote really expandi
