meter relation eric fisher from our boston station wbz has more on the latest system. >> that latest system is getting wrapped up, is this going to drop a lot of snow for a lot of folks over the next couple of days. it will be moving across the plains and work its way into the midwest and eventually into the northeast. so a lot of states with winter storm advisories and watches, covering every two dozen states, as a matter of fact, everyone dealing with this particular system. this morning, we start in the plains, heavy rainfall moving down from the tennessee valley as we head to the afternoon and evening. snow expanding from cincinnati, to chicago, westward to omaha as we head towards tuesday evening. and as we head to wednesday, this snow heads to the northeast. new york, much of an icy mix. over towards detroit, there will be snow coming down of course a trickle-down travel effect at the airports. this wraps up wednesday evening. 6 to 12 wide swath stretching from the great lakes and into the plains. 3 to 6 on either side of that. a couple spots along the way may just get over a f

off the top we want to get right to eric fisher, chief meteorologist at wbz in boston. eric what is the outlook? >> jeff, at least we got a little break this weekend but cold air going to be coming down from the north very quickly as we head into tonight, tomorrow and for much of this week, oozing its way down to the dope south with the polar jet stream taking a big dip in its usual suspects. the northern plains through the midwest and into the northeast really feeling the kbrunt of this one. looking forward to the wol week, if you are east of the continental divide,-- looking at below average temperatures, the worse in the great lakes. if you want warm warment go to the southwest or extreme south florida. highs in the single dig, single digits to low teens, chicago stands well below average, the teens around 20. into the northeast as we head into tuesday and wednesday, teens and 20s for most of these towns are typically well up into the 30s if not the 40s as we're on the doorstep of march it has been a winter to remember. it is not just you, it has been cold and snowy.
