fisher actually gets into what has to be included.derstanding, though, is there's objections to things like for instance the use of the term "priet "white supremacy" to describe the views of the founders. is that correct? >> i think what you're finding here is they're objecting to the ap class itself. the syllabus and what's in the course. this is a critical thinking course. it's not teaching u.s. history. by the time kids get to take this course, they're preparing for college. it's college preparatory. it's actually a college-level course. so this is a critical thinking course using the benchmarks they've already learned about history throughout their 12 years in school. or 11 years in school. so this isn't to learn about how history occurred. this is to learn -- it teaches kids to think about what they think brought these events about. the other thing i might add here is the college board has been in existence since 1900. they have a known reputation for developing these courses. what we would do if we went back and developed these

david got out of richard fisher from the dallas fed. buffett and jack welch disagree. mark sebastian at the cme. i want to start off with mark. the market was juiced early on by the belief that the greeks will work in the parameters of the previous bailout deal. the markets like that. we got a john openings number, the jolt survey. what was enough to push the market higher in the last hour, mark? >> to 60 in the s&p 500 had been kind after resistance point. we bounced off that three or four times. once we saw 2050 we saw shorts squeezed out. that drove market higher into the afternoon. we bullied our way through the last major resistance point. the question is can we hold here? if all goes well tomorrow, might finally hit the 2100 in the s&p five you've been looking for. there is good chance things could go awry tomorrow and we could be back to 2000 relatively quickly. one thing i would note. this is really astounding, last three months rallies have been much more volatile than selloffs. we probably are you there the big jolt of a rally. so i think the kind of two scen

meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz is tracking the potentially record braking freeze>> a cold front is kicking off here, minnesota, portions of-month-old. could feel as cold as 25 below zero, maybe as low as 40 below. ufl this behind a front will bring some scattered snow showers across the northeast as well as we head toward the evening. not anticipating a lot but it does deliver a shot of the chilly air. looking for the highs in the single digits. 40s in a place like atlanta, but we look into the north heading into the weekend. a big cold blast that's challenged records. high temps, below zero on saturday and the 20s starting to move their way south. the real brunt of all this is on sunday. highs in the 40s in florida. 30s around atlanta. they say stuck around the freezing mark. lots of single digits and teens. we'll be challenging and likely breaking a few records with that. as that cold moves in a large storm develops this one has the potential to become a blizzard for eastern new england by saturday night. places that are absolutely buried could see more than a f

the latest come with bone-chilling air astle meteorologist eric fisher reports more is on the way. >> the big dig under way on sunday. that's the way we look into monday. wind ville values as low as 35 below zero. dangerous conditions to be outside. a lot of cold across the midwest and northeast to start the week. also tracking a midsouth storm. winter storm warnings out. significant winter event. heavy snowfall moving through monday. this whole area tracking its way eastward by the evening. rough commutes across kentucky into west virginia heading over toward d.c. and this will bring snow to dmoshg and boston tuesday before it heads off toward the east. biggest totals across kentucky could see over a half foot. on the southern end across northern alabama, mississippi and georgia over towards charlotte will include ice really difficult travel conditions and could bring up to a half foot of additional snow into the boston area. in terms of the cold it is here to stay. sharply colder temperatures central and eastern u.s. running 20 to 40 degrees below average. i'm meteorologist eric fis
