you had a picture of fort fisher when you started. it has been a few years since i have been back. what is the status, the remaining slice? >> that is a good description of what remains. it is just a slice. the sea face has been reclaimed by the ocean and a portion of the land is still intact but there is another of the land space that you can get an idea of the scale of the fort. it is still impressive even in its current form. >> chris victim -- bingham. we heard about the maclean's and how they were affected. can you elaborate on what happened to the bennett family? >> i was reminded by ron wilson's inventory of all of the stolen items from the maclean house that the bennett's underwent a similar pilferage. it was so bad that james bennett applied for restitution from the governor of north carolina, william holden. not just once but twice to recover his stone artifacts. that included the table that the surrender documents were written and signed on. james then at and william maclean would have a lot to talk about if they ever got together.

meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz says more than 100 million americans are in its path>>> yet another winter storm working down to the southern states. we're watching snow and ice move down 35 from wichita to oklahoma city, and then it stretches out from texas all the way toward the ohio valley and this line is going to continue to sag south and eastward, heading through wednesday. the sherbet color here is a lot of sleet and freezing rain that will come down. a lot of freezing rain across parts of northern louisiana, little rock, reaching into northern mississippi and western tennessee, and the sleet will hold down some of the snow totals. really wintry travel from north texas right on through the ohio valley. we may again see double-digit snow totals. along with this, arctic air seeping its way southwards. for a few places where it felt like spring again for a little bit, temperatures dropping through the day on wednesday, and, of course all the road surfaces becoming very icy. tracking into thursday, it will face significant snowfall. icing also possible heading down

meteorologist eric fisher of our boston station wbz says behind the snow is more cold. >> well, spring may start today, but it doesn't mean it can't snow. weather doesn't necessarily have to match. we've got a storm moving its way northward. you see the snow blossoming as we head through the morning commute. for the commute, we're watching the dc area, much of maryland working in. it's creeping northward into the day. for the evening drive the corridor on 95 from philly to new york city, new jersey and southwestern connecticut, that's where you could see bands of heavier snow adding up, making for difficult travel. snow at the airports before it rolls out to sea friday night. during the totals we'll see much across central p.a., northern new jersey. 3 to 6. 2 to 4 for philly. a coating of as much as 2 inches in washington, d.c. the storm booted out to sea by another strong cold front. what that means is more below average temperatures moving in especially for sunday and monday. sunday's highs mainly in the 30s and 40s. for the cherry blossoms, the daffodils, things you expect for sprin
