"today in the bay"'s ginger conejero saab is live in san francisco. the area around fisherman's wharf, we know, is always crowded. >> reporter: that's right, kris. that area is not that far from where we are, but you're probably still not going to be able to see much of the fireworks display. but if you do have a rooftop in the city like the one we're on, today is a great day to make use of it. hopefully the weather will allow for you to enjoy the views of san francisco, no matter if there's a lot of fog or just a little bit of fog. san francisco is home to the largest fireworks show in the region by far, and crews were busy putting it together for tonight's mega celebration. they were assembling pieces on four large barges yesterday. there are more than 10,000 pounds of fireworks materials. some of that will be used tonight, other fireworks were used last night in richmond. then, of course, tonight also in sausalito and redwood city for their displays. the production is overseen here in san francisco, and spectators are in for a real treat, fog or no fog. >> we try to put on comforta
