we just had flickr. during a class break, i had them type in the search engine, yosemite and view. had to pull up all the photographs tagged with those words and just play them as a slide show and i swear 90% were taken from same spot, where the tour buses take everybody through. the tunnel view on highway 140 and looking back at half dome and el capitan and sort of this classic view. if a hotel is built in the middle of that or a great lightning bolt struck and cracked it in half, that's not going to happen, we would be upset because the thing we think of is unchanging, would change. one of the last aspects that is not as well as understood, not only were they promoted in the early days, you know sort of pitched to congress then promoted by the railroads, but once you get the automobile being invented, and also our lives changes in terms of the workweek getting shorter. weekends are invented and people have more lee sure time, they become auto oriented. you can see this in an old post frer the 1930s or '20s. with a car driving through the tunnel tree. this is a real transformation
