there is is a potential for floding. we have a couple showers starting to develop in parts of the area. right now at the shore, we continue to see a wind off the ocean. this is as nice as it's going to be until next maybe tuesday. 78 in cape may and hol gait. here's the satellite and radar. just a couple showers in delaware. but this is going to be developing as it moves towards the coast. everything is going to intensify. through the evening, we find some isolated showers and thunderstorms. anything that does develop could produce a downpour. but we're talking about the main threat starting tomorrow afternoon. here we are tomorrow morning. could be some showers developing to the west. and then watch these colors. more yellow, more orange, more red, these are indications of very heavy rain. the greatest threat is to the south. this is in northern delaware. and into saturday morning, as the storm intensifies offshore. so saturday is just going to be an awful day. how much rain? this is the european model. . the world's mo

so more rain added instantly dwoing to cause flash floding. this shows how much rain an area needs to start flash floding. this ap wraps around philadelphia. new castle county has been totally saturated and even parts of upper chester and montgomery county as well. we can certainly see that much through your friday and saturday. >> you're lotalking about 2 to inches, it locks like it's quite possible. that's almost a sure bet. that's what it it's going to look like thursday morning. we have a couple showers perhaps later on during the afternoon. that occurs on friday. here come the showers and thunderstorms. and some of this is on the heavy side. you can see the yellows and oranges and reds zipping through there friday night and into saturday morning. it is possible this rain lasts into saturday. so not that much rain through 7:00 a.m. be look at the amounts from this one computer model. there are some models showing more rain than this. look at this. dover at 6 plus inches of rain. you don't need 6 inches. just 2 is going to cause some floodi

with the saturated ground, that means a good chance of floding on rivers and creeks. some places are more vulnerable than others. that's part of our neighborhood weather too. this area in darker green, only 1 to 2 inches of rain is needed to produce flooding. so in delaware, for example, they can handle more rain in southern delaware than you can handle in new castle county. 1 to 2 inches of rain. parts of chester county, upper montgomery county, only 1 to 2 inches of rain. just south of philadelphia and going into south jersey, only 1 to 2. in philly, 2 to 3. you could easily get that amount and meteorologist krystal klei will talk about specific amounts and the timing. >>. that's right. and that's why we issued that first alert as our concern for the totals we're locking at by the time the rain is said and done. take a lock at our projection. this is one computer model. you see only a couple hunts of an inch to saturday afternoon. lock at these numbers. 3 1/2 inches in philadelphia. same for wilmington. you saw the flood guidance map. 1 to 2 inches is enough to caus

wind along with this heavy rain causing floding. maybe heavy rain coming up to the philadelphia area too. on saturday, it's moving out slowly. the clouds may linger into subd. especially toward the shore. we are expecting the rain to linger into sunday too. and some of those southern areas get hit the hardest. the least amounts of rain up to the north unless this shifts up a little bit. but the potential rains farther to the south are just enormous. 6 inches of rain for a potential. we're not talking about this is a gauarantee. this is the most accurate model in the world. it's been calling for this storm for a couple days. when the other models were not, we have had that rain in the saturday forecast for awhile now. look at that model prediction for millville and atlantic city. the weekend overall a saturday is the worst day. no doubt about that. temperatures are down. kind of a washout in most areas. the wind will be an issue the a the shore as well. that will be the last place to clear out. so it's not even going to be pretty at
