kpix 5's jessica flores live in san jose this morning with details. jessica. >>> reporter: the 4th of july is actually one of my favorite holidays but if you are like us and we're trying to get sleep last night, it was impossible across the bay area. here in san jose, they had a lot of illegal firework activity and police and firefighters were very busy responding to a lot of activity. first, we had a grass fire over off highway 237 at north first street. fire officials got the call just after 9:30 last night. now, right now, we don't know the cause of that fire. and over in alviso, san jose police broke up a huge 4th of july party. you can see multiple units patroled the area before stopping the party. and then police had to respond to reports of a sideshow on northbound highway 101 just north of the capitol expressway. this video from snapchat shows part of what happened. helicopters shined lights on crowds gathering around the sideshow and even fireworks were set off during that sideshow. now, as i said there were a lot of illegal firework activiti
