florida, ohio, illinois, and arizona. these are all big states. these are all big delegate states. ok inside some of these states. look at florida. this was a disaster for bernie sanders in 2016. he lost florida to hillary clinton by 31 points. there have been multiple polls out in the last couple of weeks showing sanders trailing by this much against joe biden. if you look at the demographics of florida, who has bernie sanders struggled with for four years consistently? older voters. that's a huge problem for him in florida. all sorts of demographic land mines for him in florida. if you look at ohio, ohio was already a problem area for bernie sanders in 2016. he lost that state by 14 points to hillary clinton in 2016. if you start looking at all the ground that biden kind of improved on over clinton in michigan last night and you start to look at some of the places in ohio where that might apply, you see an opportunity for biden to do even better than clinton did. you look at in arizona the margin there was double digits in 2016. sanders got, you can see here, 40% of the vote in ar

another big tuesday for voters in florida, ohio, illinois and arizona." and with me in the studio is msnbc contributor susan dell peercio. louisiana is postponing the primary. your governor saying, we're definitely voting. they voted during the civil war. we are going to vote. how much pushback was there on that comment from tuesday of this week? >> i mean, you know, it's modern twitter world. everyone's going to push back on everything, but generally when we talk to the election supervisors in 67 counties, they said let's go forward. so far we had about 1.2 million absentee ballots cast in this primary alone. on top of that, another 600,000 early in person votes. i imagine on election day there will be lower turnout. >> mark, you're a vet. you've been on this beat for a while now. how weird is it not to have candidates in florida? not to go to events? how strange is it to have the campaign trail take this turn? >> it's a little strange. there's a run on toilet paper. in 2008 there was a change in the rules made. because florida moved the primary early.
