and her letter invokes the case of michael flynn. that was trump's former national security adviser in his last administration. and in short, flynn was indicted for lying to the fbi. he pleaded guilty to the charges. then trump's doj under attorney general bill barr demanded the charges be dropped anyway after he pleaded guilty. now, the judge overseeing the case refused to dismiss it, but the whole thing eventually went away when trump stepped in and simply pardoned flynn on his way out of office. in her letter to bovey, sassoon points out that the president could just do the same thing now, noting that with flynn, the president ultimately chose to cut off the extended and embarrassing litigation over dismissal by granting a pardon. bovey responded to that with some more bluster, basically admonishing sassoon for daring to question trump's authority. don't tell the president who to pardon, but let's linger here for a second, because that example raises an important point, right? all this is happening because trump did not pardon ada

rachel: oil trader and fox business contributor phil flynn joining us now.posing the tariffs on canadian oil. what does that tell you about global supply? >> it's very tight and also the u.s. refiners are dependent on heavy crude oil and that's what canada produces and no station is producing record amount of oil and it's right oil, but the refineries built for venezuelan oil and saudi arabiaen oil and we continue to need canadian oil and that's why president trump is having second thoughts and we use a lot of canadian oil in winter to stay warm and those prices go up and people not going to be too happy. rachel: look at this and the imports and who we import oil from the most and look at that, 60% from canada, 10% from mexico, 7%. so what will all this do to our prices of everything? >> i mean, the good news is that the u.s. produce as lot of oil and even though canadian oil and mexican oil is preferred, it's not going to be be as bad as a lot of people think. gas prices going up 10% and more concerned about diesel because it could go up 30%. you have to of
