everybody has mentioned at our folsom st. nct. another one of our principles besides diversity was to actually use existing zoning where it can apply. so we did adopt the ntz zoning. folsom street is our future neighborhood center. our sli is becoming the m.u.g., the mixed use general. so what -- excuse me, the slr. it is residential and commercial. in most of my pictures, you will see that we're all so liberalizing the use of office specifically to preserve our existing housing stock. i think you have seen the preservation document. i think there are like 75% of the buildings that are sort of in that document. so we want to have more liberal uses sell the buildings can be upgraded and used, there for the office used within limits will be allowed to preserve buildings. the rcd, ninth street and 10th streets, besides having a sort of the bigger uses that are developed regionally, these are actually freeway onramps and off ramps. as much as we would like to have a neighbor of the functions, these streets will always beefeater street

about the mission, the mission park on 17th and folsom. this space would be utilized for affordable housing and, for me, this is a big deal. of course, there's a large number of families that live here in the mission district. me personally, i have lived here for most of my youth life, and i have seen it is a family space. now, as we move along to 2011, i see most of the families that i had originally known in the mission have moved away because of housing prices going up, so i see this as an opportunity to keep the people that make the mission -- the families that have lived here and make the mission. by losing the people that have lived here, we are losing the culture that has been here for a very long time. thank you. supervisor mar: thank you. >> [speaking s panish] >> hello, good afternoon, supervisors. i work with dolores street community services and i work with a lot of the families in the mission. in working with families, i see the great needs that families have for the development of this type of project. a lot of the families l

i am going to give a quick presentation on the 17th and folsom project. i am here from the recreation and parks department, planning division. one of the things we are excited about is the idea of a new neighborhood park for the mission. i want to give you a quick overview of the really great funding story on this project. we have funding for all the different life expectancy of this park. i want to talk about that, about the community outreach, and an overview of going forward on this project. before the acquisition of the project, the total cost is $6.27 million. the rec and park portion is going to be coming from eastern neighborhood impact fees. the rest of it is from the mayor's office of house and budget. the buildup of the park is being funded by state grant money. we have already received that grant. it is very exciting. it was a competitive grant process, and we were able to receive that from the prop 84 grant. this will also cover the first three years of maintenance of this new park. supervisor weiner: just a quick question on the funding. i sa

in particular, it is this parking lot, here, on folsom. essentially, and the area in pink is being exchanged for the area in yellow in the photograph on a overhead now. tjpa and the city, which permitted the transfer of state property -- to the city, and subsequently we are before you now with this exchange agreement that squares off the ownership of the private parcel and city parcel. it facilitates the city parcel through the redevelopment agency, a party to that agreement, to allow for the development of affordable housing in the future. so this is step one of a secondary step. the particulars of this exchange are 746 square feet going in one direction, 2278 square feet in the other direction. the benefit of that, a differential of approximately $69,637. those are funds owed to the city, providing more land than the seller is provided to us. therefore, it is not quite an even exchange, but the agreement calls for the payment to be made by the llc to the city. supervisor chu: thank you for the presentation. this item does not have a budg
