you can see here behind me that part of folsom street has reopened to traffic and crews down there are still working to make some repairs. at about 12:10 this afternoon fire officials say a six-inch gas line ruptured as a private contractor was working at fourth and folsom street. the leak prompted a big evacuation. police say more than 1,000 people at several big facilities were evacuated including the moscone center where a convention of endocrinologists was going on. yerba buena gardens was evacuated and the metreon was briefly emptied while others were told to shelter in place. homes, businesses, a home for the elderly was evacuated and residents bussed to st. patrick's church. slowly things are starting to return to normal now that the leak has been capped. >> evacuations are in process, being lifted right now. basically we're sending gas service reps building to building to do one final sweep with the sniffer to make sure there aren't any gas deelectricitied and at that point allowing peep to re-enter their buildings. >> reporter: traffic remains backed up in the area of folsom a

i live at the apartment between folsom and howard street. i heard a loud commotion, loud music one day and i see two latino males who are discussing one having a flat tire and need to get a ride to have the flat tire repaired. one of them had a blue placard and his friend said, where did you get that from? he said never mine, i want to use it. he said you can't use that. he threw it in the gutter. i ran across the street with my walker and reclaimed it and had it since this day. i'm the mac member who spoke about the street fares. the problem being that blue zones are displaced and disabled people who happen to live in the neighborhood have been invaded have no place to park. there needs to be a different formula for coming up with how many disabled places to put around the neighborhood so that disabled people can park there and so the merchants don't park there and the bicycle people don't latch their bicycles to the meters. i have a complaint with the mayers office with disability, sharon is due to get a response to me. i don't think she's

south of market on folsom street. 611 folsome street. this is 2002.k whine did not officially work at that office. but the following year in 2003 it so happened he got transferred to that office. so now this thing that he had been so curious about, he was working in the same building where that secret room was in operation secretly. the room was about 24 feet long and about 48 feet wide labeled as room 641 a. they had keys to all of the whole at&t complex on folsome street but they did not have the key to 641a. only the one guy who had the nsa clearance, only one guy had a key to that room and only he was allowed in there. mark cline later testified that at a certain point the air conditioner in 641a started dripping. started dripping so much that water from the secret room started leaking through the floor on to some expensive company equipment on the next floor down. but that one guy with the nsa clearance who was allowed to go into room 641a, he wasn't around. so there was nobody to go in and fix the problem and so they just left the air conditione

the highest designation is limited to that portion of folsom streets. the one hundred and 5 feet designation is on the second and 3 townsend street and on this block there's a parcel for a hotel that has been proposed and reviewed by this commission. and for the benefit of the audience this is that area. a portions of the district is located within the central corridor area. they intended to provided strategies for proposing changes along the streets. this draft includes principles and implementation strategies intended to accumulate growth. and one recommendation of the draft plan is to permit larger hotels, however, the central corridor plan is to consider a broader change. i want though emphasis that the draft ordinance is a much smaller more targeted approach to amendment controls for a small block of those designations within 1 hundred feet and higher. as poeptd to the ordinance this will facility a project that has been approved. additionally at the may second hearing the commission discussed the roles of the hotel and tourism in the city tourism
