along folsom street and also the transbay park at block three. despite that ambition for connect tiffty there's a lot of connectivity challenges around the site, partly because of infrastructure so this is at clem and fremont street where there's no crossing so we thought about wanted to propose a crossing there to connect the clement park and transbay park and wanted to do more with the courtyard exterior space within the middle of the block that was prescribed by the development controls, but not developed further than that. we wanted to incorporate as one of the mid block pa say owes that are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood to connect the streets in a way that can be dynamic and occur in the major streets and also the mid block, weaving the whole neighborhood together. this is a view from fremont and folsom, looking at the building. by creating this paseo we lock that into the block activating it as a new urban street for the block. that connection aligns with the topography of the site which connects towards lincoln hill, which is obvio

a couple weeks ago without remembering i rolled down folsom street and the mission and it was amazing from 11th street to 24, i don't think i had to stop one time. it's good because it slows everybody down but it makes cycling that much more attractive for people on bikes. we've done a number of these thing without talking about it too much. i guess one of the lessons learned that there are things that we can do that might not be as apparent as having something green on the ground. i mentioned this earlier is following the paving, following the passage of 2011 streets bond. what this enabled was there were funds that were generated from that bond that would allow us to partner with dpw. if they are going to pave a street we would look to see if we identified any pedestrian needs in such as crosswalks or bulb outs on that streets and we would have the resources to provide for that paving project. this ukd project -- euclid project is one where we are able to change the geometry to slow the traffic down and having the ability to improve those projects and so we can identify these and pu
