folsom.( james ) and i'm james fletcher. that breaking news we are following is out of oakland where two people have died after being pulled out of lakell what do we know. ( will ) at approximately 4:15 am the communications section received a call from a citizen reporting there were two people who appeared to be drowning in lake merritt. oakland police officers and oakland fire department responded to the scene. it was reported that the first responders went into the lake attempting to rescue the victims. one male victim was located and first responders administered cpr, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.the female victim has been located and pronounced deceased at the scene. this is an on - going investigation. anyone with information is encouraged to contact the oakland police department homicide division at 510-238-3821. <"at 4:30 this morning approximately we received a 911 call from a citizen who indicated that he heard two people in the water. it appeared as though they might have been in an altercation in the water. one of the voices that he heard was a woman."> ( james ) ( james ) ( james
