president fong: thank you. next speaker, please. >> i am a resident of the building on the north side of the complex. looking at the transit network, the 36 bus is the closest bus. and there is a walk along cre stmont. from time to time, muni threatens to cut the 36 line entirely. concerning the eir section 4, it says there are no active or inactive fault in the immediate proximity of the fault. there could be unmapped faults. new faults are found all the time. a previously unknown fault was discovered there 10 years ago. there is no guarantee that a fault does not exist near the site. earthquake and used landslides is low. the apartments or in the north east of the project site. this is a big concern for residents. there are some elderly residents on fixed incomes who fear damage to the building might force them to have to move. the eir notes there have been slides behind kirkland heights. the whole area is prone to slides. this was in 1910. it has been sliding a long time. back in the early 1990's, it in the

president fong: great. i have one speaker card. linda chapman. >> at a recent hearing, i told you about the history, and i just wanted to talk a little bit more about some of those buildings we were trying to save. at the time on jones street, there was a big move to demolish rental housing to create condo's. there were lessons learned from that. 1300 sacramento and jones, which is still there, was proposed for demolition. the battle went on for seven years. at the time, it was considered sensitive. it was a curated building. it was landmarked. all the sudden, the developer decided it would be a good thing to develop a 2200 story condo. and he evicted his 22 tenants. and mentioned this before. and then, what happened? the planning commission did not like it. they turned it down unanimously. what did he do? he had gotten rid of his tenants. he opened all the windows nt have homeless people move in. the neighbors objected, but there was nothing he could do. he was worried about mildew. so, they were living in theire. we were at this

president fong: i will follow-up on commissioner miguel's comments. this is -- of all the things we have looked at, this one is one that will require the finest balance of the two and i find it interesting that market street, one of our few diagonal streets that intersects and bisects san francisco is calling for this mixed use we're talking about. ms. hester's comments about the folks you see on the street are not always representative of market street. i think there is a hit in san francisco. there are people who live in very small apartments in the area that you do not see because they are senior or disabled or not able to get out. i want to make sure we do not forget them. and their conditions. but i think it is a good plan. the chatter on the street about market street and the improvements, whether it is including twitter or not, is good for the city. it is good for more development and improvement to the area. i am supportive and looking forward to seeing more move forward. commissioner sugaya. commissioner sugaya: to get back to what commission
