15 people today after clearing protesters from another university even hadn't this time at fordham university, which is almost a straight shot down the west, side from columbia university. >> or someone prokupecz was there earlier today. he now joins us from a third new york institution, new york university there south in manhattan. what's it like there anderson, a very large crowd gathered here outside an encampment, actually that the university has on campus i am very large encampment. it's on the university property. and what's really interesting here is that there's actually nyu you security that is guarding the encampment. encampment, making sure that only nyu students are entering the encampment quite different from what we saw saw the other night when we went to the university of pennsylvania and philadelphia to try and figure out exactly who's behind some of these protests, who's attending? nam, who's sleeping in the encampments. and here's what we found the, campus at the university of pennsylvania is open to the public you guys are students here are they students are run do you work

let's go to fordham university in new york city now where we find cnn's shimon prokupecz, shaima, and tell us what's happening there this is a protest here that started this morning. >> jake, i want to show you down the street. there are a number of students and other protesters people just from the community who have gathered. i here i am. we're hearing the chance what's driving this is jake, let me show you here inside the school. this is inside four university. i'm hoping you can see here through the window, there are a number of students and there are some alumni that have taken over this lobby be inside the school. it's about a dozen or so. the students that are inside tell us the de has been suspended, the alumni there. now, there are access to the campus has been deactivated. we are now waiting on words from the store whether or not they're going to ask the nypd to come in and remove the protesters that are inside. so that's what's taking place right now. we've seen a professor here at the school here in the lobby negotiating with them. the next step zero are unclear. the end w

i actually live near fordham university. i saw those protests. and you're going to myself, okay. this has to be a massive political crisis for joe biden. but take a look at the poll numbers against donald trump before the israel-gaza war began. then now, and what do we see? we see there's no movement there there's no movement. donald trump was slightly ahead beforehand. he's slightly ahead now, you look at swing states like michigan, right? where obviously there was that big effort during the democratic primary to vote uncommitted over joe biden stance on the israel-hamas war. and what do you see there? you see basically the exact same thing. donald trump's slightly ahead before the war started, slightly ahead now so when i look at the numbers, at least overall, jessica i just don't see that there's been a major impact on the presidential race. and i don't see a major impact on joe biden its numbers. he was unpopular before, and he's unpopular now and a lot of people including senator bernie sanders, have been comparing the recent protests to those during the vietnam war. >> but

a new encampment had sprung up at fordham university in the middle of the city. there, there were about a dozen tents in a building. it was a smaller protest. the protesters said they were doing it. out of inspiration from the columbia situation of about 15 students were arrested, their police called in, moved out that encampment. now we're hearing about stony brook new york. another school where students have set up tents as well in the demonstrations. just continue yesterday, when the students were being processed at police headquarters, a rally happened around the court house there. and the students who were supporting the students that were arrested from other schools, many of them went to that location. and then march here to n y, you and i parked nearby. there were hundreds if not thousands, blocking traffic throughout the street. so what we're seeing this morning is the quiet aftermath. this has been the pattern, the demonstrators say out late, the police are called out late in force, patrolling the streets, trying to keep the streets clear. and then the s
