this is what it looks like at river road and sunset in forestville. crews are working to china a large slide that's full of mud, rocks and branches. authorities say it could be closed through noon today. >>> and here's a look at the mudslide on highway 152 in the south bay where crews are working to clean it up. lanes are blocked at hecker pass near gilroy because of the storms rolling through. they could stay closed through friday. >>> and this usually busy intersection in sonoma county looks like a lake. we'll get to that in a second. overnight highway 121 near 12 was flooded. it is shut down right now. the schellville fire department had to rescue six people from three cars that were stuck in the water around midnight. two of the cars are still stuck. this isth isn't the first time this type of flooding happened here. last month it happened also causing a major headache for locals. >>> drivers around the bay area are being warned today that powerful winds could be dangerous during the commute. kpix 5's jackie ward is live at the bay bridge toll pla

until then, the museum artifacts are stored at a facility in forestville, maryland. we visited with rebecca looney, exhibits and programs director, and sarah haggerty, curator, to learn about the museum and the collections which will tell the story of law enforcement history. rebecca: we are at the collections storage facility for the national law enforcement museum. right now, we have about 17,000 objects that we are going to use to tell the story of american law enforcement in the new museum. this facility is climate controlled. here is where we will make sure all of the objects stay safe until the opening day, and we can put them on display. the national law enforcement museum will be opening in judiciary square in washington, d.c., straight across the street from the national law enforcement officers memorial. the museum is an outgrowth of the law enforcement officers memorial. about 25 years ago, the memorial began. and from there, people realized there were a lot more stories to tell. we wanted to tell about the lives of these officers, not just the officers wh

one man who owns hundreds of acres near forestville says the creek is a trickle but now it's well over 100 feet wide. some homeowners are at risk of bee stranded and could cut off more roads. >> currently, it's at about 7 feet deep. and i expect it to rise by the end of the day by maybe upwards of 12 feet possibly flooding the lane trying to access the house with here. >> despite all the flows, the homeowners says he is not too worried. he says flooding has been much worse in the past. he says all the rain really helps with his crops come spring. >>> highway 37 in novato is closed again right now. both directions are flooded between atherton avenue and 101. this is a bad winter for highway 37. lanes have been closed off and on with each passing storm. businesses in san anselmo were ready for the rain. they had sandbags to keep the water out. some homeowners also tried to protect their homes as the hill seeds grow weaker from the rain. >> everything is saturated. there's nowhere for the water to go. that means through the local creeks and streams and that's where the problems occur. >>
