neil: and you think about the florida documents case the president was in force pierce -- fort piercey dealing with that, the judge there who certainly is indicating that this could be pushed off. i know the trump folks want it in august. there's this 10-week plan where you push that off before really things get started which means it could be a postelection event if it happens at all. so looking at all those cases, where do you see the one problem or one issue for donald trump? if. >> well, i think the big question right now is what happens with that classified documents case. if that can be tried before the election. to your point, the trump lawyers made what, to me, was somewhat of a surprisingen concession, that they said they'd be willing to have a trial on that case in august. that was a bit surprising. i thought they were going to take a hard-line position, no rile before the election, full stop. they've created the opportunity for the judge to schedule an august trial date in that classified documents case. that said or, even if the judge schedules an august trial date, i thin

paula reid in fort pierce, florida for us, paula, thank you very much. let's turn back to our legal and political experts right now. laura coates some legal analysis. judge cannon called some aspects of the special counsel's jack smith's proposed schedule unrealistic. how do you read them? well, perhaps because this is a defendant in multiple jurisdictions multiple in terms of federal and also state. and we also have spent some pending cases and the supreme court, including one about immunity now the immunity discussion has to be a little bit more nuanced, but you can see a world where they would try to delay this with the expectation of having the supreme court weigh in and other matters. this is a very complex notion here. we haven't seen anything like this before. >> the >> judges in tune to that, but this is also playing through vantage of donald trump's legal counsel and team. they know full well, you've got beating interests, competing jurisdictions, and if one is able to give him a trial date than it saves off everybody else. if one's able to bloc

this case this is going to go to trial because i was there a week or two, i lose track down in fort pierce when the judge was hearing arguments about how far back to delay this case, what we're really watching down there is when aileen cannon, the judge, the trump appointed judge, puts this case on the trial. just on the calendar because again, it's it's getting pretty close to the election, but i will say something that was really interesting last time i was down there as the justice department revealed that they are open to bringing that case even within the two months before the election that was an open question. how close to the election are you willing to go? usually they don't take investigative steps that close to an election in a case that could impact the outcome. but the fact that the justice department is willing to take this case to trial, maybe in september or october that is significant, but ultimately it's up to the judge to decide when this goes both biden and trump now have more than enough delegates to become their respective nominees. and biden tomorrow is going to be i
