fox news knew everything it needed to know to fire bill o'reilly 13 years ago. and they didn't do it. because it wasn't in the value system of fo news, and bill o'reilly was their big star making more than any other host on fox news with bigger ratings than anyone else on fox news. we now know the man running fox news roger ailes was at least as bad as bill o'reilly and possibly much, much worse. he was driven out of fox news last year once the basic outlines of his multiple offense sexual harassment lifestyle at fox news was revealed. it was impossible to get fired for sexual harassment at fox news under roger ailes running fox news. he was the sexual harasser in chief at fox news. it was also impossible to file a complaint for sexual harassment through the hr department. no one did. no woman during the time of roger ailes and bill o'reilly filed a formal complaint for the fox news complaint system, not one. because obviously no one trusted it. and they were right not to trust that system. run by roger ailes. lisa bloom advised her client wendy walsh to tell her

and with that kind of glowing coverage, trump often goes out of his way to advertise for fox news showshe tweeted, watch "fox and friends" now on podesta and russia, and watch "judge jeanine" on fox news tonight at 9:00 p.m. the president literally just recommends tv shows now. our police are doing a fantastic job tonight on an all-new "blue bloods." fox news was bill o'reilly. he and roger ailes were the architects of the conservative media movement. >> even more than that, bill o'reilly, roger ailes and rupert murdoch changed american culture, changed our politics in the post-reagan era as probably no other individuals did. they had enormous power. now they no longer have the same place to exercise that power in the same way. we don't know where it's going to go. what we do know is that fox has seen that they had to make a very hard business decision about whether to keep him or whether to let him go. in the end, they saw they had to change their culture in such a way that this spokesperson for a point of view that had virtually nothing to do with real news and had to do with counter factual advocacy of a kind and significantly that donald trump also practices, they're both great showmen. let's not forget, o'reilly is a great tv performer. don't take that away from him any more than you would take away from donald trump what a great performer he is in term
